She is probably feeling mentally and physically exhausted right now, as she has been playing for seven consecutive weeks. Plus, most players have a letdown after winning a tournament the week before. Sandrine is now traveling to Tokyo, where she is the #4 seed. Kim Clijsters, Monica Seles, and Jelena Dokic are higher seeded. However, Monica Seles has withdrawn, so Sandrine is now the highest seed in her half of the draw. She faces Saori Obata in the 2nd round, since Sandrine received a bye.
