Yale Derby 2001
This was My first legal and league race so I was very excited. I bought a car from gamers for a cheap price. It was used but still good enough to use in one more race. After me and my dad fixed the car and bent it right it actually looked pretty good. When I got there I realized how hard this race was actually gonna be. Luckily, I got a fairly easy last heat. I ended up waiving off in the heat to Ryan Songalewski to earn 2nd place and a spot in the feature. After the heat the car looked pretty rough. Somehow me and my crew managed to get the car back into shape to at least make it out there. Well once i was out there slowly the cars started to fall out and i was still goin. In the end it came down to me and my dad. I couldnt believe it. I was so happy just to make it that far. And then what i never thought would happen, HAPPENED! I actually beat my dad. He hit me and went to back up and lost the driveshaft. I couldn't believe it. My best racing moment so far.
