* Maryport get the season underway with a victory over neighbours Glasson Rangers. With several of last terms rosta having moved to pastures new, Maryport included a number of graduates from last years under-16 squad. One of those, 16-year-old Andrew Cartwright is outstanding and returns a personal tally of 20 points, from two tries and six goals. Further tries from Centre Stephen Cameron (pictured), forward John Pattinson, stand-off Colin Bethwaite and Sub John Steele complete Maryport's scoring.

TEAM: Mark Pattinson; Tony Mounsey, Stephen Cameron, Andrew Cartwright, Kevin McCourt; Simon Barnes, Ian Bethwaite; Ian Ivison, John Pattinson, Neil Clark, Frankie DeGraff, Mark Foster, Stephen Pattinson Snr. Subs: Stephen Pattinson Jnr, Brian Sewell.

*Maryport continued their winning start to the season with a hard earned victory over a resolute home side after the teams turned round at the interval all square 10 points each. The Pattinson clan featured prominently with Steven Snr scoring a try and drop goal, while Steven Jnr added five goals. John Pattinson completed the Pattinson 'party' with an excellent touchdown, while other Maryport tries came through Tony Mounsey, Kevin McCourt and Mark Foster.

HENSINGHAM 64-10 MARYPORT

TEAM: Andrew Cartwright; Tony Mounsey, Stephen Cameron, Mark Pattinson, Kevin McCourt; Stephen Pattinson Jnr., Ian Bethwaite; Ian Ivison, John Pattinson, Brian Sewell, Frankie DeGraff, Neil Clark, Mark Foster. Subs: Gregg Wignall, Eddie Wilkinson.

*Against a much more experienced Hensingham side - last seasons CARL Championship Final winners - Alan Davidson's inexperienced charges put in a full eighty minutes effort.Consolation points came through a Mark Pattinson try, with a goal apiece for Steven Pattinson and Andrew Cartwright.

MARYPORT 18 - 46 WESTFIELD

TEAM: Ian Bethwaite; Mark Brown, Stephen Cameron, Andrew Cartwright, Dan Smithson; Mark Cartwright, Mark Pattinson; Gregg Wignall, John Pattinson, Brian Sewell, Frankie DeGraff, Neil Clark, Mark Foster. Subs: Craig Thompson.

*The match was switched to Aspatria RU ground and brought forward a day from Saturday. It was never going to be an easy fixture for Maryport, but lacking ten regulars - it was nigh impossible to expect anything other that the final outcome. Maryport scored tries through Mark Brown, Stephen Cameron, Mark Foster and Andrew Cartwright, the latter adding a solitary goal.

* Maryport travelled across town with just the bare minimum of players and with great resilience took both points. Andrew Cartwright, sealed victory with a second-half penalty which proved to be the decisive score at the final whistle. It certainly proved to be Cartwright's day, having grabbed a first-half try and goal.

* For the second time this season Maryport switched an home fixture to Aspatria Rugby Union club - and took both points. Tries from Andrew Cartwright 2, Stephen Cameron 2. plus one each from Ian Bethwaite, Dan Smithson and Neil Clark paving the way to a hard earned victory. Three goals from Andrew Cartwright and one from Mark Foster completed the Maryport scoring.

MARYPORT 14 - 12 WESTFIELD

TEAM: Ian Bethwaite; Michael Little, Stephen Cameron, Frankie DeGraff, Kevin McCourt; Mark Pattinson, Alan Telford; Ian Ivison, John Pattinson, Neil Clark, Darren Nixon, Mark Foster, Stephen Pattinson Snr. Subs: Eddie Wilkinson, Brian Sewell, Craig Thompson.

* Maryport clinched a Jennings Cumbria Cup quarter-final place in a memorable game against Westfield to erase memories of the heavy defeat suffered against the same opponents back in September. A 14-12 victory was just reward for a huge team effort which included six sixteen-year-olds. A Stephen Pattinson penalty in the second-half proved to be the vital score after the teams turned round all-square.Michael Little had mixed fortunes on his debut - scoring an all important try and finished the game with concussion. Stephen Cameron grabbed Maryport's other try, both of which Stephen Pattinson converted.

*TWO disputed tries which went in Kells favour denied Maryport a deserved semi-final berth against Egremont Rangers.Maryport stayed in the game right to the final whistle with tries from Frank DeGraff and Stephen Cameron, both converted by Andrew Cartwright.

TEAM: Eddie Wilkinson; Kevin McCourt, Steve Cameron, Andrew Cartwright, Frankie Degraff, Mark Pattinson; Alan Telford; Ian Ivison, Dan Smithson, Greg Wignall, Neil Clark, Mark Foster, Ian Bethwaite.

* Maryport stayed the course until the break when the sides turned around 8-all. But the second-half belonged to Westfield, who all but booked a place in the top-flight of the second phase matches. Ian Irving was Maryport's lone try-scorer, with two goals from Andrew Cartwright completing the tally.

* Maryport were never really in this Cumberland Cup First Round tie, and Seaton enjoyed a comfortable nine-try saunter. Greg Wignall was Maryport's lone points scorer with a late consolation try.

* Almost one way traffic for the second game in a row as Carlisle outfit St. Nics look favourites to take the Second Division title. Struggling for players recently Maryport to their credit stuck to the task and registered tries through Simon Barnes, Andrew Little and Andrew Cartwright, who also landed two goals. * Maryport record their biggest win of the season against a Flimby outfit who could only muster eleven players. Youngster Andrew Cartwright was Maryport's top-scorer with 22 points from a brace of tries and seven goals. Alan Telford grabbed a hat-trick of touchdowns, while Stephen Cameron, Ian Ivison and coach Alan Davidson shared six. Others to add their names to the scoresheet - Mark Pattinson, Ian Bethwaite and Paul Robinson with tries, plus four goals from Mark Foster.

* A tight match in which K ells only took control in the last 20 minutes. Brian Sewell and David Baliff scored tries for Maryport with Mark Foster kicking two goals.

* On completion of their superb new facilities, Maryport returned to the Mealpot for the visit of Seaton in Division Two. However, Seaton weren`t in a very charitable mood and took command from the start, building up a 16-0 half-time lead but Maryport provided a spirited fight back to win the second half 12-8. Maryport's points were scored by a try each for Steven Cameron and Mark Pattinson with Mark Foster converting both.

TEAM: Mark Brown; David Baliff, Steven Cameron, Andrew Cartwright, Kevin McCourt; Gary Southwell, Mark Pattinson; Ian Ivison (capt), Steven Pattinson Jnr, Frankie De Graff, Dan Smithson, Dave Hutchinson, Mark Foster. Subs: Mark Cartwright, Alan Davidson.

* Maryport took full advantage of Flimby's inability to muster a full compliment of players and run-up a 76-12 scoreline.

Recently returned Gary Southwell helped himself to a hat-trick of tries, while Ian Ivison and David Bayliff both crossed twice. Other touchdowns went to Alan Davidson, Stephen Cameron, Mark Foster, Kevin McCourt, Frankie De Graff, and Andrew Cartwright, the latter also slotting over twelve goals.

TEAM:Ian Bethwaite; David Baliff, Steven Cameron, Andrew Cartwright, Dave Hutchinson; Gary Southwell, Mark Pattinson; Ian Ivison (capt), John Pattinson, Neil Clark, Dan Smithson, Frankie De Graff, Mark Foster. Subs: Craig Johnstone, Alan Davidson.

* Three tries from Arms' Craig Stalker proved to be the difference at the final whistle.
Maryport were still in contention at half-time as the 10-6 scoreline suggested.

Andrew Cartwright responded for Maryport with a brace of tries and two goals, while further touchdowns came from Stephen Cameron and Craig Johnstone.

* Coach Alan Davidson enjoyed the satisfaction of gaining a victory over his old club Kells, as Maryport rounded off the season with seven tries.

Steven Cameron lead the way with a hat-trick, and was followed over the line by Mark Foster with a brace, and also kicked three goals.

Dan Smithson and Alan Telford completed the Maryport try scorers.
