Powdered salvia
The salvia leaves are dried in an oven until crispy and powdered in a mortar and pestle. One gram dry weight.
Extraction
Use about 20ml of good quality acetone. Swirl from time to time. 5 - 10 minutes should suffice.
Filter
Keep most of the powder back in the flask. Add another 20ml and repeat the extraction. Filter this as well after 10 minutes. Finally add a little acetone to the filter cake. Total filtered volume will be about 50 ml.
