THE MASTER'S SHORTS
by Arthur Dykeman
-I can't thank everyone enough for making June so fantastic!! What I can think of at the moment: Thanks to our long-distance visitors that day, among them Todd, Robert Sandler and guest Diana; Juan Sanmiquel get kudos for helping Mary and Carl; My favorite (Charles) Martin, for the usual Auctioneer duties; Joey, for the bunches of stuff he brought up for that auction; Ben for all the crazyness we put him through during set-up; And Julia for once again being the hostess with the mostess. Not to mention that physics-defying Volcano Cake!!!...
-DVD FOLLIES: On the commentary track for GENESIS OF THE DALEKS, Elisabeth Sladen makes a reference to the New Series. Worth looking up; As are the documentaries there and with REVELATION OF THE DALEKS (which, while not in the same class as GENESIS I grant you, has a wicked sense of humor all it's own!); Any fans of Darksied, New Genesis, The 4th World, The New Gods, or Jack "The King" Kirby simply MUST get ahold of the latest SUPERMAN:THE ANIMATED SERIES and JUSTICE LEAGUE sets. It's a nice way to psyche up to SUPERMAN RETURNS too; Not only is DOCTOR WHO: THE COMPLETE SERIES ONE on the shelves on the 4th - It's also being released on the UMD format (in 4 installments) for U.S.-region-formatted PSP!...
- Lastly, let me put 2 cents on LOVE AND MONSTERS. Oh yeah, I'm squarely with the half that is ABSOLUTLY THRILLED with it!!! Granted, RTD gets as personal with this 10th installment of Series Two as the episode is experimetal. And Scooby-Doo lots of it is epecially the first Doctor encounter Elton relates. But then, I like Scooby-Doo (Just stay away from me about Scrappy!! Ewwww!! Sorry. I digressed...). Priceless is the interaction LINDA goes thru, as well as Peter Kay's gloriously OTT monster. What can I say. Guess you just gotta be in the mood for it...
Whoa. That was a bit. Gotta rest now. Until next wash cycle my dears...
your humble servant
Arthur
