ANDREW HOUSTON MARS

 

Andrew Houston Mars was born in Bellvale, Orange County, New York on September 4, 1873. He was successful in the banking field for forty years and resided at 37 Montgomery Place, Brooklyn, New York. He married Florence Daisy Hardie in Brooklyn, New York. The couple had three daughters. Daisy H. Mars died in May, 1907 and was buried in the Hardie Family Plot of Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, New York. Violet H. Mars was born about 1908 Gladys L. Mars was born in 1909.

Andrew Houston Mars died on April 7, 1926 at the age of 52 yrs, 7 mos, 3 days. Florence Daisy Hardie Mars died in January 1963. Andrew and Florence were buried in Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY. A letter written by Andrew's sister Mary Lilleous Jacoby notes that Andrew suffered greatly and changed drastically in appearance. MARRIAGE RECEPTION ANNOUNCEMENT

"Mr. and Mrs. James Hardie request the honour of Mr. and Mrs. Mars family company at the marriage reception of their daughter Florence Daisy and Mr. Andrew Houston Mars on the evening of Wednesday, the twenty-second of January from eight until ten o'clock at One hundred and fifty-four Eighth Avenue, Brooklyn."
