Adjectives share most characteristic features with nouns: they belong to a class (I or II), and they can be marked for number and case. When modifying a noun, an adjective goes before it, and agrees with it in number and case.
In addition, most adjectives have several stems.
Basic -0 ett ‘big’ Augmentative -um ettum ‘bigger’ Superlative -ās ettās ‘biggest’ Equative -izm ettizm ‘as big’ Diminutive -ūr ettūr ‘less big’
All stems besides the basic one are declined as Class I.
