Jedime's Po' Boy Star Wars Customs

2002 Updates

12/10/02 - Time to respond to another guestbook entry. Another one from Matt Gandara. His last entry was rather negative, though well put, so I responded to it. This new one borders on insulting, and I can tell he's annoyed, but I don't really see what the big deal is. Not everyone loves my figures, in fact I don't even like a few of em myself ::coughcruisemissletroopercough:: but I post em all regardless of how they turn out. This site isn't a "best of" - it's both my good and my bad. He doesn't seem to like that I restrict myself to certain methods, and he's far from the only one to comment on it, but he does seem to think I do it because I think I've found a better way, which I don't. I stick with it because it my style. I don't feel like "running with the big boys" as he says. I do what I do because I enjoy it, and I'm not in competition with anyone (at least I didn't think I was). If you don't like my customs, no one is forcing you to come here, and you don't have to keep visiting if you don't like what you see. I know of many people who love my site, and as I've said before, I know of many who've been inspired to get into the hobby from visiting here and seeing that you can make a large variety of custom figures with simple things you can find cheaply at an office supply store. As I've said many timmes before, I do this for me, and me alone. If others enjoy what I do, then great, if not, then there's a ton of other sites out there to choose from. I won't mind, really.

12/9/02 - Totally forgot to mention - at some point list week the site passed 500,000 hits!
As usual I took my sweet time getting my site updated. A few micro machines (Star Wars this time) and 23 new figures. I also updated my Naboo Royal Security (Coruscant Attack) figure, and added a shot of where to see R3-T7 to my R5-H6 page. For those of you who could care less, don't worry, I'll be updating soon enough with at least 20 new Star Wars figures :)

10/27/02 - Finally took the time to update my Needs List.

10/25/02 - Well, I took my sweet time, but I finally updated! Nineteen new figures and three updated ones - Duros Jedi, Elasser Targon, and Luke Skywalker (Father). I've been delaying this for weeks and weeks, so I'll shut up and just give you the links to the new ones:

10/11/02 - I know, it's been awhile, but I really do have more customs coming. Many are finished (and have been for a while actually) but Im waiting on getting a few more figures in the mail for me to work on. In the meantime I've been working on custom freeze frames. I made replicas of all the ones I didn't have (including Weequay and the unproduced Ponda Baba), and then since I still had 78 extra frames left, I decided that even if Hasbro didn't make frames for their entire line, thats no reason I couldn't! I've made frames for all the figures Hasbro didn't, as well as for all their vehicles, playsets, Leia Collection, Cinema Scenes etc. etc. I skipped on a few line like F/X, Millenium Coin, and Max Rebo pairs, basically because I ran out of frames, but basically every SW toy item produced between '95 and early '99 (right up until they switched to COMMTechs) now has a freeze frame. At least they do in my collection. I haven't decided yet if I'll post them here, or maybe send em to FFURG's Template Vault, but I'll definatly make them available. Lastly, I had a request in my guestbook for Emon Azzameen from X-Wing: Alliance. I'm happy to say he'll be in the next update. I do try to honor figure requests as often as I can, provided they fit into my set paramaters - no Sculpy, must have parts available only in the Star Wars line, and I rarely do figs based on cover art, or video game extras. The last rule I've broken many times in the past, though usually because I wound up with extra figures from an ebay lot or something. I've had several Kueller requests which I'd love to have filled, but sadly there's just no way for me to do him. I do get several request from a kid named Adam and if he's reading this - your Zuckuss in Boba Fett Disguise is still on tap, it's just very, very hard to find Zuckuss at an affordable price. Also Adam, if you're reading this - the last two times I tried to respond to your emails I got a bounce back. Just figured I'd let you know.

9/25/02 - I had my mailbox semi-flooded with some guy sending me screensavers, possibly virus infested. A friend of BGs? Who knows. He's block too, so who cares. I did decide to check out the ol' guestbook, just in case I needed to delete anything else. I was pretty pleased with what I found. I'd like to thank my visitors, and the members of the FFURG for the help and support through all this wackiness. It's even been theorized that good ol' BG might be a skinhead, and started this whole thing because I have a Jewish last name (though for the record, I'm Agnostic). Who knows if that's true, though either way, BG's a pretty screwed up individual.

I also did want to point out the rather long Guestbook entry that Matt Gandara left me. To tell you the truth first I saw how long it was and saw some negatvie things when I skimmed, so I was thinking BG left me an impassioned speech of some kind. Luckily it was nothing of the sort, and I'm pretty positive it was legitimate. He seemed sorta nervous that I'd take his entry the wrong way, and I suppose the timing isn't that great, but I don't mind negative crtiques, as long as they're contructive.
I will say that I think Matt and I have different views when it comes to custom figs. He said most of my figs look like I used a marker on them, which is 100% true - I only use markers :) Other things like my lack of Sculpy, and refusal to use parts from outside the Star Wars line I've heard before too, though I made those rules up in order to keep a focus, and add an odd kind of challenge to myself. My color choices are small, since I only use Sharpies and ZIG Memory markers, though once again, I really don't have the desire to go beyond. I also make different figures for different reasons. He mentioned that my NJO Kyp was too tall, though that figure was only made because I had a Luke head, a Qui-gon body, and nothing planned ot use em for. I saw Kyp and figured it would mostly work, so I went for it. I enjoy my spare parts figures because it's fun to try and see what I can make with them. He expressed fear that I'd blow him off because everyone else is being "too nice" but really my style is basically "quick and dirty" and I enjoy it. I've been able to inspire a lot of people who are interested in starting the hobby, but aren't sure where to start.

Basically - Matt, I'm not pissed at you for what you said, but I'm also not about to change :) I'm not trying to win awards, I'm just trying to have fun - and right now I'm having a blast.

9/23/02 - Might this be the end of the BG saga? Hopefully. He responded to my last e-mail with a quote from a song called "En Vind Av Sorg" from a Celtic/Norwegian death metal band called Darkthorne. Ooh. Look at me. I'm shaking. What it actually says, I couldn't really care less about. Basically I blocked his ass. On the other hand now if he pushes it and tries to contact me again, I've been told legal action would be possible. On the other hand that also means I need to remove the info on him I had up previously :( Oh well, it's a small price to pay to get the wack-job to leave me alone. Hopefully he'll get a life and move on.

9/22/02 - I do have new figs to post, but here's another BG update. Sadly, he decided to write back:

yes thats right, you think that you know who i am dont you? oh and how your ever so much smarted, well guess what, im not the retard making crappy customs with your high school degree, i warm you not to post such things about my person or i will be forced to take action, yes i know where you live, and you have no clue who i am at all, yes you say but i do, well guess what you think wrong.

Now, the first thing that strikes me as sad is that he attempted to call me "smarter" but called me "smarted" instead. He also forgot to use uppercase letters and proper punctuation, and I also have a college degree, but moving on... It seems he's resorted to threats, though sadly he must forget that we aren't on the playground and in the real world I can have him arrested for that sort of thing. It strikes me as funny that he says he's "not a retard making crappy customs" when he's the one whos sad enough to go around threatening people who do (not that mine are crappy :). What he forgets is that no one forced him to come to my site, nor did anyone force him to start swearing at me about it. He also doesn't seem to understand that since this is MY website, I control the playing field, and can easily erase anything he puts here, while I can post whatever I want. What's really sad is that he thought that he could just send me nasty little messages and expected absolutley no reprecutions! He started this whole mess, and yet he actually has the gall to be mad at ME for not rolling over and taking it. I told him in my email responce that if he apolgizes I may take these updates away, so we'll see what happens. In the meantime, obviously I'll be posting the whole thing on my site, so if he's mad that I'm making him look bad, he should realize he's doing it to himself.

9/12/02 - Well, if you happen to have looked at my guestbook at any time between 2:50 and 3:45 today I'm afraid I'll have to appologize for what you read. DELETED, email addresses DELETED and DELETED, ICQ #DELETED, left 5 rather horrible and offensive guestbook entries. Ok really what he did was leave 5 entries, all with different names and bogus email addresses and I guess thought he'd trick me or something. Sadly my IQ is probably at least 4 times his own and I could see that all entries were left within a minute of each other. While I never really had an anti-profanity policy on this site, here's a few cleaned up, and rather choice, quotes from this coward who only thought I wouldn't be able to track down his personal info (I'm not giving it all out publically, at least not yet):

"i BLANK cant believe, that in anyway shape or form you call this BLANK custom? custom what? custom crap is what it is, do you know you could give those figures to little kids in africa who need them... ...its like BLANK grab a brain you BLANK eater... ...i should kill you and the beast of a mother that spawned you just for that, BLANK off and die BLANK cheese sandswich"

"I'd perhaps try and clean up your customs a bit. In fact, maybe stop before you even start and do us all a favor. Those made my eyes bleed. Perhaps you can sing a song so I can go deaf too."

"If I were you, I'd get a bunch of gasoline, dump all that wretched plastic in the middle of a firepit, douse it, and light. Then jump in myself."

"if i were to BLANK on a figure it would turn out better then what you seem to pull off, BLANK just kill your self right now, cuz face it, no one loves you, you have no life and you suck."

"Man, you are the worst customizer I have EVER seen! I've seen a lot too. Give it up. Quit wastign perfectly good figures. Maybe if you could paint... Get some sculpey dillhole...."

And all this only a day after the anniversary of our nations greatest tragedy. Did I mention that he's an DELETED! He also sent me some wonderfull photoart of the black and white drawing of me and my finace, with a full color picture of a penis hovering near my face. I mean, honestly, if you're going to take the time to harass someone and doctor a photo, at least try and do something somewhat believable. Maybe he just wishes it were him. I suppose it's possible that he was truely, deeply, offended by my customs, so much so that it drove him to lash out, condeming me like the fanatic that he is. Maybe he felt a deep down urge to try and change things, so that I might never hurt the world again with my plastic men! Or maybe he's a sad, lone, individual, a smelly college student from DELETED with excess body hair, sitting in his parents basement spending all his time bothering people he doesn't know, all the while trying to figure out how to keep hiding his ever growing collection of beasitality filled pornography from his mother when she comes down to attempt to clean the mustard stains out of his carpet. It's really sad to know such self-loathing individuals exist, trying to project thier hatred onto others instead of doing something productive like, I don't know, leaving the house and going outside. Perhaps actually meeting a friend or attempting to talk to a girl. I'm just saying is all... :)

9/4/02 - Didja miss me? Finally, long, long, long overdue, I'm ready with my Arena Jedi update! This should've been up like a month ago, but I wound up working on the Musical From Hell (A Saint She Ain't, performing at Westport Country Playhouse till Sept 14th. Take my advice.... miss it!) Anyway... So yes, 16 Jedi from the Arena are here. A few even got offical names thanks to an update at The Offical Site only day ago. All the ones added come courtesy of my first site sponser - M and M Collectibles! I've been getting virtually all my SW figs from them since about the last few waves of the Episode 1 line, and a large amount of customs you see at this site I've gotten from them over the years. The best part is - NO SCALPER PRICES! That's right! Even the brand new figs are actually affordable! Prices on older figs are even lower (how else do you think I can afford to make so many customs.) I owe em a big thanks for all the Jedi figures they've provided for this update, so check em out - and when you order tell em Jedime sent you! I've added 16 Jedi, all of which are in the same section, so I'll just point you there:
Hasbro Attack of the Clones Section
Hope you enjoy the update! Once the DVD is out and I can freeze frame, I'm sure even more Jedi will be added!

7/24/02 - Time once more for an update! This update is a special one, as it includes my 600th figure - Kir Kanos! An early custom staple, who I wasn't able to do until now. I also have some news about my site's first sponcership. I've teamed up with M and M Collectibles in order to be able to make a ton of Arena Jedi! I should have at least 15 Jedi from the Arena to add in the near future. Back to things at hand though - 6 Micro Machines and 16 figures have been added to the site, and I also updated Gwig and my Star Tours R3 Unit

6/27/02 - 11 figures added, as well as 2 more Micro Machines! Besides updating Bornana Thul with a new right hand (thanks ot David Wirth) I already broke what I said before about no more Attack of the Clones figures for a full year, but I had been stockpiling Jedi figures over the past few months, and so I decided to use them to just make 5 Arena Jedi. As with the Ewoks, since there are so many of them, and none have names, I started applying established Jedi names that have been mentioned over the years to the Arena Jedi. A lot of names were mentioned in the now defunct HoloNet News so I'm working off of that list for now. Also as soon as the atrociously bad online store Action-Figures.net decides to send me the figures I ordered from them almost two months agao I'll be updating the site again. I had ordered some custom fodder from them earlier and it took months to get it, but I was assured (took em two weeks to even answer my email) that it was a one time occurance, they were busy getting ready for Toy Fair. Well, I gave em the benefit of the doubt but look what happened. To reiterate -

DO NOT ORDER FROM ACTION-FIGURES.NET!

Ok, message sent (I told em I'd do it!) now enjoy the new figures! :)

6/1/02 - Oh my lord! These figures should've been uploaded weeks ago! This is part one of a two part update, this time movie figures, tomorrow (right, more like next week) the EU. Oh, speaking of movies.... ATTACK OF THE CLONES FREAKIN ROCKED!!! And I'm not just saying that as a Star Wars fan. It was good. Damn good. On par with Empire as far as I'm concerned. It not only made me better able to admit how low on the scale I think Phantom was (still love the movie, but it's far below the rest) but it also put it a lot more in perspective. I also must say that the scene in the garage when Anakin returns with Shmi is by far the greatest scene in the entire saga. I'm also letting it be known that this batch of AtoC customs will be my last for a year. I'm leaving time for Hasbro to release what they will, so I don't do anything they might do, and I'm also leaving time for more and better shots of background characters, especially the Arena Jedi. Hopefully a lot of them will be named as well. I also went ahead and removed all my customs that I had put in my Attack of the Clones section that wound up not appearing in the film. Basically General Windu, and all the alien Jedi except for the Weequay Jedi. He was actually there, 2 years after I made him :)

3/26/02 - No new figures today, but keeping up with the times I've changed my Hasbro logo once again to match the packaging change that'll occur in less than a month. I think I may change it once more and add one with a light blue background, but then again I may not :)

3/25/02 - Finally I got my act somewhat together and posted almost 30 brand spanking new customs! This is only part 1 of what I have ready to upload, over 80 new figures in all. Today I posted the figures I've made from the movies. I'll be adding my new Expanded Universe customs in 3 sections I think, each one might be a few days apart. 3/18/02 - Well it's this site's 2nd birthday today (YAY!) and i was hoping to give a massive update here, but unfortunatly I am far from having everything ready. What's everything? Well, an update of over 80 brand new figures - including my 500th figure! This makes my site by far the largest personal collection of Star Wars Customs on the internet! After all that I'll also be going through and having a large update of figures that I've gotten much better referece pics of. Here's just a taste of whats to come:

2/28/02 - What can I say, I've been busy. Today I finally updated a bunch of figures. My biggest addition of updated figures to date I think. I have a whole bunch of new figures waiting in the wings for me to add to this site, an addition that'll bump my custom figures into the 500 range! Here's my updated figures, mostly thanks to my new orange marker.

2/18/02 - I think this is the longest time it'd ever taken me to finish an update. I have here 11 new Micro Machine customs, and two updates. I began the code for them about two weeks ago. Then started my new job, took a five day vacation, got engaged, and finally here I am back. In addition to these Micros, I have a 9 figure update coming up (yeah, nine figs, none of em new, sorry) and then after that, another huge figure update (new ones this time) that should bump me up past the 500 figure mark!

2/1/02 - The premire of the Grab Bag Wave. Basically I'm getting very very low on my "To Do" list, so I figured I was up for a challenge. I ordered a 10 figure grab bag to see what I could do with whatever I got. It actually wound up being 11 figures since I got an Odu Mandrell/Pit Droid 2 pack. I'm fairly happy with the results, though I did make a lot of alien Jedi, which I consider to be a slight cop-out. On the other hand, you can never have to many Jedi! Also I added three figures to my Attack of the Clones page, though only one of them has actually be shown in pictures. The other two are alien Jedi that I think it's possible for us to see in the film. Basically they aren't spoilers. If they are in the film it's purely coincidence. So now, without further ado, here they are:
In the Hasbro The Phantom Menace Section:
Ottega Droid
In the Hasbro Attack of the Clones Section:
Padme Amidala (Naboo Return)
Er'kit Jedi
Toydarian Jedi
In the Hasbro A New Hope Section:
Danz Borin (Cantina)
In the Hasbro Return of the Jedi Section:
Pote Snitkin (Jabba's Palace)
In the Hasbro Expanded Universe New Republic Section:
Han Solo (Wayland from The Last Command)
Roganda Ismaren (from Children of the Jedi)
In the Hasbro Expanded Universe New Jedi Order Section:
Nom Anor (Rhommamool from Vector Prime)
Duros Jedi
Kubaz Jedi

1/30/02 - For the first time in a long time I'm updating with only three figures. Two of which are technically spoilers, since they're from Attack of the Clones, but the only spoiler present is the color of their lightsabers. Very soon I'll be updating once again with my "Grab Bag Wave." What is the Grab Bag Wave? Not to be too secretive (cause it's not much of a secret) but I'll explain when I add the figures from it. Maybe tomorrow, maybe the day after, but soon. Here's my three new figs to tide you over:
In the Hasbro Attack of the Clones Section:
Plo Koon (Jedi Duel)
SaeSee Tiin(Jedi Duel)
In the Hasbro Expanded Universe Prequel Section:
Peerce (from The Hunt for Aurra Sig )

1/23/02 - Hm, page just got a lot shorter didn't it? I figured while I was in an updating mood, I'd finally put up some archive pages. I had almost 2 years worth of updates on my main page, so I figured it's was time to move them to their own pages.

As fortold, here's a dozen new figures for your enjoyment. This update includes my very first Attack of the Clones figure! Don't worry it's not a spoiler really, just a background R2 unit. If you consider the fact that I'm giving away that there are background R2 units to be a spoiler then, well, you shouldn't. It's like saying there's gonna be Jedi is a spoiler.
In the Hasbro Attack of the Clones Section:
Coruscant R2 Unit
In the Hasbro Return of the Jedi Section:
Giran

1/22/02 - A few cosmetic updates around the site today, and one updated figure:
Jedi Warrior (from Jedi Council - Acts of War)
But if your a frequent visitor here, you know that an undated figure means that new figures are on their way!

1/10/02 - All right, finally new figures! Seventeen added this time around. Enjoy!
