The following is a personal interview with a victim of acquaintance rape.  She tries to explain her horrific experience to the best of her abilities.  There are moments where she tried to stop the tape and it caused some glitches.  I believe this interview to be helpful for those who have not dealt with rape clients.  This will give them an in-depth understanding of the emotions that might show and will allow you to find a way of approaching these victims in the most empathetic way.

Intro:              For one assault in law is an attempt or threat for beyond mere words to use violence with the intent of the obviously ability to harm another.  Being that said rape is one of the most common violent actions committed to teens this day and age.  Here with me now is a victim that has a traumatic and painful past, now viewing a horrific experience in date rape.

Synopsis:             All rape is traumatic, but there is something particularly traumatic about a woman being raped by someone she knows and previously had liked and trusted. Although only a small percentage of men commit date rape, these men do a disproportionate amount of harm. As women become more aware of what date rape is and how it occurs, they may be able to lower the chances of it happening to them.  Rape is not a private issue not but a public one.  Acquaintance rape cannot be considered solely a personal issue, involving a particular man and a particular woman.  It is a problem that concerns all men and all women because it deals with the basic issue in the ways in which men and women relate to each other.  There is a need for high schools to have rape prevention programs, not only to help women protect themselves but to help them understand the issue of rape and thereby make the school campus a safe environment for everyone.
