Q3: What is the Duration of the Flood Event?
To properly determine the
duration of the flood we must turn to the Scriptures. In Genesis 7:11
it states that Noah entered into the ark in his six hundreth year in
the second month. In Genesis 8:13, it states that in Noah’s six hundred
and first year, the earth was dried. Verse 14 tells us that they
remained another month in the ark, stating that they exited on the 27th
day of the second month. Therefore it can be determined that the flood
was about a year in length from entering to exiting the ark.
