Since its establishment in 1987, UP Haribon has continuously exerted effort to inform and raise the awareness of the community on the different aspects of environmental conservation. Environmental responsibility starts where education begins.

Through the years, the organization has successfully carried out projects directed at fulfilling its objectives, such as: National Collegiate Environmental Congress, co-organized with Haribon-UST; "What On Earth Are We Doing?", a well-attended symposium on sustainable development;Sowing the Seeds of Love, a tree planting activity widely supported by the UP Diliman community; DO-THE-DU, a run-bike-run duathlon; ECOTRIV '97 and '98, an environmental quiz show; participation in the annual CLEAN-UP The BAY; "PagmamaHALAMANAN", a potted plant sale; and the MAKILING CLEAN-UP CLIMB. The SenTREEnaryo a tree planting project in which the organization planted 100 trees as part of the Philippine Centennial celebration; along with this project was the ADOPT-A-TREE project wherein people in the UP community where asked to adopt 100 seedlings for the SenTREEnaryo. The organization has also staged numerous exhibits, campaigns, and symposia, and conducted meaningful exposure trips.

UP Haribon also has several on-going community- based projects. The Basics Of The Environment (B.O.T.E.) is a series of lectures on the principles of ecology and conservation, which aims to promote awareness in grade school students, particularly in the public schools. Materials for environmental education and research are made available to the UP community through the HARIBON Mini-LIBRARY. UP Haribon comes out with a monthly WALLNEWS directed at students of the university to inform them of current environmental issues.
