Plans: For the last few years, my goal was to recreate the eb0 game, Titled Mother in Japan. Because Dragon Warrior lacked success in America, Mother never saw the shelves over in America. Earthbound 0 was the foundation for Earthbound. Earthbound took a lot of its songs and made them better. It also redefined the meaning of RPG. It no longer meant castles and knights. Fortunately for us, Rom hackers put it into a rom format so we are able to play a buggy version today. In my opinion, eb and eb0 should have equal content on Starmen.net because it is a great game, and it is the first in the great Mother Series. Doing this game does two good things: 1 it encourages others to try to make games such as this, and number two it brings new light to the game. The plans of this project are to go all the way and “re-master” eb0. First off, All those who played the translated rom saw truckloads of grammar mistakes. Also there are quite a bunch of bugs and irritations in the room, such as having to go to the menu and “Talk” or having to manually click “Use” on the cash card. Just a little about me. I got “Eggy” from a stupid nickname one of my old friends posted on me. I came to the earthbound community sometime in 1998-1999. I was not very close and basically all I did was check in every once and a while. All of the time on Earthbound.net was cloudy to me, and I do not remember all that much, except for my “rival” trying to check it out and wonder what it was. The reaction: “No Pokemon!?” When Earthbound.net switched to Starmen.net, for reasons I still do not know, I decided to become active in the community. I started to do a lot of stuff, mostly Amzrigh’s Map Project, creating music, chatting, forums, ect. In fact Earthbound became almost a life for me, and you can ask any of my friends: It still is. I ran a group of people that does a lot of stuff with computers called Universal Brothers Inc. With their support, I decided to start up this project. We hope to enhance the graphics to the earthbound quality. We will also be altering a lot of the original sprites and detailing them. One thing that you can expect for sure is that the sprites are Earthbound Style. Sprites will be by Eggy, Trevmun, and Jeff Andonuts) We will fix up the menus. There will be a better opening scene like in Earthbound, and it has a completely new song from PepsiCola. Meeellla will design the title screen. The title screen will picture Eve with Earthbound 0 across his chest with Ninten, Ana, Loid and Teddy on his shoulders. Eve is a robot that you acquire later in the game. The enhanced story in the game will explain her profile more in depth. We will be using Face Sets, so that when a person talks, their face comes up on the screen. The art will either be done by Chibs or Meeellla. In the battles, we will have backgrounds similar to the ones in Earthbound, done by Eggy. Jeff Andonuts will do the enemies in 3d. All game maps will be designed by Eggy, and the beta sketching is done by Chibs. All the other music will be the same, just changed and jazzed up by PepsiCola and Pogo$Punk, and a few others. All the songs besides the title screen will be the same in the game, but they will be juiced up. On scripts, by Jakob Dorof and SSJNess, we are keeping the same story about a couple disappearing, and a kid going to explore. All the events will be the same, too, but we will add a bunch of scenes also, to add to the Character’s Depth. With new screens we can show their personality, relationships, ect not much else has been decided about the added script. Again, because much has been confused, the story will be the same, and just some minor changes will take place. Some of the events that we add will be based on the Time Period. The game takes place in rural America. It starts in a town called Podunk, which is in Maryland, right outside of Harvard (No Kidding). If it takes place in the 1980’s we will research on its some more to make some events. Still not much of this has been decided. This game will be in English, not Japanese. The battle system will be equivalent to Earthbound’s battle system. The battle menu will have the options of Bash, Item, Run, PSI, like the original. They will also have their special independent ability, Ana can sing. In the battles, we will have backgrounds similar to the ones in Earthbound, done by Eggy. Jeff Andonuts will do the enemies in 3d. We will feature all the enemies from the original, plus add maybe one or two, just to go along with the extended story. We are programming the game ourselves (No more rm2k). The game is planned to come out on cd in a few years. The cover art will either be done by Meeellla or Chibs. This whole thing is cloudy but it will be an install disc. There will be no CD stickers on them just because the cost is to high with the Jewel Case, Ink, and the compact discs.

The CD will first go to all my staff. That does not include slackers or dropouts. After I’m finished mailing that in a couple of weeks, I will be sending them to the people who contribute greatly to the community. You will not be able to buy this album, due to legal reasons. However, you can donate to me so that I can keep making the discs and I will give you a free copy. Eb0 is nonprofit and every dime you send to me will be paying for the cds I am making. We have also planned a new soundtrack to come with it. This is for plain fun and just a chance for some of the artists to get themselves published in an album. It is not yet planned whether or not this is even going to be released, but I was planning on shipping it with the game.

So, let’s say you want to help. E-mail me at Firestarta001@aol.com telling me that. Be sure to add what job you want. Also, I am not going to put up with people who slow down the progress of the game, so don’t even submit if your not going to keep with it.
