ANGUS TRAIN FACTORY
The Angus factory was building trains for the CP (Canadian Pacific) it was build in 1901.During WW II, It also build some tanks for tanks for the US and English Army. In the late 70', Its production started to fell greatly,and in its last year of production (1990), It produced only 4 wagons.When it closed,it totally ruined the economy of Eastern Montreal,employing more than 5,000 workers. It was composed of more than 33 buildings. It used to be the biggest industrial complex in Canada, with around 1 million square meters (~around 4,3 million square feet).In 1997,the city decided to build an enormous residential and commercial complex,destroying most of the original buildings leaving only the 2 biggest. ADRESS OF ANGUS: it doesn't really have an official adress.however,you can go check on the corner of St-Michel and Rachel streets.
