The Fellowship of the Ring Empire is made up of players who wish to role play from time to time. In order to keep our stories a bit more in line, here is a list of our role playing backstories (as submitted):

65 Members currently in the Fellowship

The leader of the Fellowship of the Ring:

Ray The Wanderer
Arch Wizard

The first to don the White robes of the Council, RayChua the Wizard was sent by a power from beyond to serve as a Guardian in the world of Meta. Having gathered a group of like-minded Wizards, he battled the demon Balrog and fell with it into the abyss. His work unfinished, he returned to Meta as Ray the Wanderer. As their numbers grew to include Guardians of all races and abilities, the Fellowship was formed to continue this work that had been entrusted to them.

For many years, the Fellowship was wisely ruled by Ray the Wanderer alone, but as Ray became aged he decided to enlist some help. So he created the Fellowship Council. The Council consists of Ray the Wanderer, vincible, ricbayer, and Theoden of Rohan. Though the Council has administrative powers, the Fellowship continues to operate under the same guidelines it always has.

DarkHobbit
Male Halfling Procurer

DarkHobbit is generally easy going and friendly, quick to laugh and free with gifts. Unfortunately those gifts are sometimes still claimed by others which tends to lead to disagreements. His most vigorous exercise is running away from trouble which he does often enough to remain small enough to hide in his favorite shadows. He does have some strong beliefs which he will fiercly defend but recognizes others have their own opinions and embraces any resulting verbal duelling with pleasure. He joined the Fellowship to help discard the unfortunate label of 'evil' he has received, mostly from misguided acquaintances who just happened to lose a coin purse or such while he was nearby and since he is too passive to be a pirate.

HawaiiFive-O
Male Halfling alchemist

A halfling hailing from the lush green hills of Waimanalo, HawaiiFive-O is an alchemist of some small skill. Fiercely loyal and fond of hearth and home, he shuns confrontation and prefers to observe from a distance. His natural skills of stealth serve him well as most of the large, loud denizens of the Metaverse pay little attention (pun intended) to one of his slight stature. His childhood fascination with what makes things work continues to manifest itself in his present life, as an investigator of the inner workings of the universe we find ourselves in. Though unwilling to loudly trumpet his presence, his clear thinking and command of logic has earned him the title of Diplomat - he serves the Fellowship in this capacity as they explore their new reality.

Matthew Downie
Currently on a Solo Adventure
Male Elf Poet

A mountain-elf, known as Matthew in the human lands, his name in Elvish runes is Downie. Many have crossed the great western ocean in search of the grey havens, yet none have returned, save for he. He has never spoken of what lies beyond the farthest shores, except to complain that it was 'impossible to get a decent cup of tea over there'.

He joined the Fellowship for reasons unknown. Some say he sought companionship, or leadership; others that he just had a grudge against pirates.

Now he sits, and gazes heavenwards, and composes short fragmentary verses. He writes to express the yearnings of his soul, to leave some small legacy to the world, and in the hopes of making other people as depressed as he is.

Theoden of Rohan
Male Warrior

Theoden grew up in a small farming village with his parents and 5 brothers. As with most males of Rohan, Theoden was in awe of the Rohan military and the monarchy. As a matter of fact, Theoden was named after King Theoden. At the age of 13, Theoden began training in the art of the sword. Though not the best, Theoden gradually became well versed in combat. Upon his eighteenth birthday, Theoden was accepted into Rohan's infantry. After serving for several years, Theoden began yearning for adventure. And so it was that he joined the Fellowship of the Ring, and their battles with the Canadian Undead and the pirates of G.R.O.S.S.

vincible
Male Mage

Knowledge of Vincible’s origins is sparse. He joined the Fellowship after what he terms a “vacation” in the Ivory Tower of the plains of Vigrid, though it is known from other sources that he first took up residence in that tower eighty years ago. When asked what he did before entering the tower, or why he needed a vacation, his face tightens as if with remembered pain. He does not respond to these questions.

A powerful mage, Vincible is driven by many things, but most of all by a thirst for knowledge. He joined the Fellowship after being unable to puzzle out certain secrets of the Metaverse on his own, and has since received much aid. Unlike most mages, he shares his knowledge freely, for he believes that if he teaches others, he may make them wise enough that they might teach him in turn.

Vincible dresses simply, in comfortable robes of wool. He enjoys venison, freshly baked bread, and expensive cheeses. Usually he casts a human shadow, but sometimes he forgets to.

Honorary Members of the Fellowship of the Ring

Amidala (Cotal)
Former member of the Fellowship, now with Jedi Republic
Female Magic User

A 'Sanguinic' who served her ealier coven by sanctifying ritual items and making cups of tea . . . Although diminutive in stature she's prissier than royalty and perhaps at times a little pretentious in unfamiliar company . . . Not all together at the one place at any time in particular more often than not either . . . Cotal is viewed as a friend to all members of the Fellowship and is welcome at anytime!

arobertson
Former member of the Fellowship, now with Jedi Republic
Male Dragonlord/Mage

Arcrest, the mage, walked, quaking in his boots, trepidation in his heart, to the lair of the only dragon in that part of the world. He'd spent years learning enough "true speech" (the tongue of the dragon) to even make the attempt, and to develop his skills and his magical powers, he needed a new mentor. Would the dragon condescend to speak with him, making him a dragonlord - or would he end up as takeaway "Unlucky Fried Wizard"? The last three people he knew who'd tried this had not returned. He looked around - there were three distinct piles of char near the cave mouth. From one of them, a charred skull grinned eerily, almost challengingly. With fear so gut-wrenchingly intense that he was near to wetting himself, he entered the cave. A basso profundo voice from the darkness said "Tell me your true name"....

Gerakken
Member of G.R.O.S.S.
Male Spymaster

Gerakken is Spymaster of G.R.O.S.S. which would normally not give him a favorable reception in the Fellowship. This however, is not the case with Gerakken. Though he has sworn loyalty to the pirate horde, Gerakken's humor and sociable demeanor has won the confidence of the Fellowship at the highest levels. He is welcome to roam the Fellowship Halls at will (actually, as Spymaster, he could do it without permission anyway!) and his stories are always appreciated.

Killa Koala
Member of G.R.O.S.S.
Male Koala Pirate

Another member of the pirate horde, Killa Koala is actually accepted in the Fellowship halls with open arms. Killa has a very close history with Ray the Wanderer, in the fact that Ray was the one who turned Killa into an animal in the first place! Killa was a former member of ANZAC, but split off to form the ill-fated Freedom Force empire. When the FF didn't work out, they affiliated with G.R.O.S.S. and set up operations in the Southern Seas. Though they fly the flag of G.R.O.S.S., Killa has remained a friendly reminder of their past.
