SINCLAIR QL's 25th birthday
Mood: happy Topic: QL On January 12th 1984 Sir Clive Sinclair presented the Sinclair QL Professional Computer in a Hollywood-style launch event at the Intercontinental Hotel, Hyde Park Corner, London. This was exactly 12 days earlier than Steve Jobs presented the Apple Macintosh. The QL still is a very good example of an innovative, stylish, powerful and underestimated product. On one hand it failed in the market in the long run but on the other it influenced many developments which ended intoday’s products. Today, 25 years later we congratulate and celebrate the 25th birthday of the Sinclair QL! Check out this 25th anniversary web page and presentation. It took me several hours on a cold winter Sunday to prepare the information, pictures and finally build the anniversary web page and presentation. This is my present to the QL community. Happy 25th anniversary and QL forever! Urs König (aka cowo)

[ql-users] North American QL Show 2006 - America I'm coming...
Mood: happy Now Playing: Swiss Radio DRS 3 - Live from Bern Robbie Williams Tour coverage Topic: QL Just 15 minutes ago I've got the confirmation from my frequent fyler programme that my desired flights are confirmed. So then: I will attend the QL show in Niagara Falls next month! I'm happy to meet good old friends and chat on black box issues. In a storm of QL enthusiasm I just downloaded QPC2 V3.22 and fired it up. It runs, but what should I do with it now? It's around 2 years since I QLed the last time. Did I really have forgotten how to operate my system? ;-) Working with Windows day by day makes it quite hard to operate the QL's console (SBASIC), QPAC2 and even my own tool QTop. BTW: Is the show the place to buy QDT and get first hand support? Or is there a German version or something which is only available at JMS? Today is the first of two Robbie Williams concerts in Switzerland. We were not able to go, but we did feel Robbie in Amsterdam this June. One reason why we were not able to attend was the mandatory info-event of Maximilians school. But this was rather boring. Teachers are somehow a special kind of humans...
