Here you see what my trees tipically look like. The only part of this I cut myself is the cut out for the legs to fit in the bottom tree, the other cuts are done at the shop where I buy the metal with their sheer machine. Then I clean them up with a grinder and cut the part out for the legs. By the way, when drilling for the stem bolt, drill a small pilot hole in both plates at the same time so your holes will be the same in both trees. Ok, now that the trees are made, we can bolt the top tree to the forks with our 3/4" bolts, add the steering head with bearings and bolt up the bottom tree. Snug the big bolt down but not tight. We want to allow a little play to be able to adjust the amount of pressure on the steering bolt we will want once its all together and on the road. To tight and you'll wear out your bearings to fast and steering will be tight. So just snug for now. Lay your forks with the trees on a flat surface so both legs lay at the same height to each other and make sure everything is straight and level and then you can tack weld the bottom tree to the forks. Once satisfied things are good, you can weld it solid. Now your ready to put it all together and get it fitted to your Head stand to get your Trike on 3. Since you still don't have the shocks in place, you'll need to tighten the 1/2" bolts that hold the forks to the rockers tight so your front end will hold its position until you can see where the shocks need to mount.
