Mission and Purpose of the 48th VA
The 48th Virginia Infantry, Company D, is a not for profit Living History/Reenacting organization dedicated to preserving our heritage and our past with emphasis on the period of the American Civil War. We are a group of men and women, who, through participating in various battler reenactments and living history presentations, seek to interpret the everyday life and struggle of the period. We seek to educate not only the general public, but ourselves through our activities, and also to have fun in this process. Through this, we hope to gain a better understanding of those who went before us. We are not political in our views and in no way are connected to any hate groups whatsoever. Our organization as a whole has no political agenda at all.
