Please note that you cannot turn left into Crescent Road from Nether Street, although for viewing you should be able to find parking in surrounding streets near the mini roundabout that eases the junction where Nether Street and Dollis Road meet. Alternatively you can drive down Dollis Park from Ballards Lane and take the first right turn into Crescent Road. There are pleasant walks by Dollis Brook, which is accessible just beyond Gordon Road, a five minute walk down Dollis Road. Tesco and the main shopping centre of Finchley Central are five minutes walk away. The tube at Finchley Central is also five minutes away (Northern Line, Zone 4). During the morning rush hour it is easy to get a seat on a train coming in just one stop from Mill Hill East. Coming home you can take any High Barnet or Mill Hill East train. Central London to home takes approx 40 minutes. It would be reasonable to comment on the tube line that runs from Finchley Central to Mill Hill East beyond the garages at the back. This service runs about every 15 minutes outside rush hour. It really isn't noisy, though that may be hard to believe, trees and distance provide a screen. With double glazing, what little noise there is will practically disappear. The black dotted lines on the map show the controlled parking zone which the council are introducing in July 2003. This should not affect parking as there is some off street parking and a garage, although the value of the parking will rise. |
