Magic: The Gathering, A Continuous Saga (Hopefully)
March 19, 2003

The first and best Trading Card Game(TCG) ever created, Magic: The Gathering stands out with its high playability and expert-level rules that brings out creativity and technique to the player. Magic uses five colors (Black,Blue, Green, Red, and White) symbolizing elements of magic plus the use of artifacts which has a brown color (But soon as 8th Edition is released, artifact cards will have a silver color). Creator Richard Garfield and the rest of the crew at Wizards of the Coast (as far as i can see it) continuously improves and innovates the game, but for how long? After mentioning the layout change affecting artifacts, it seems that im crossing my fingers tight.

Some Say Change is Good; For Others, Well...

After a long spell, I began playing Magic again after I saw the Magicthegathering.com on the Internet. I was amazed how far I was left behind! Imagine Mirage to Apocalypse... well you get the picture. Tons of mechanics and cards to learn and love, plus lots of searching to do at card shops. Then, further sniffing around lead me to other great sites like mtgnews.com (Not just latest news, but also spoilers, forums, etc.) and essentialmagic.com (They have login features that can help you optimize decks in your mind as well as in your hand.). That's the good stuff. Now to balance things out...

Looking at forums in the internet, people have mixed feelings about change. Specially about what will happen on 8th edition. Personally I was surprised myself about the new layout (some people in the forums compare the layout as similar to other TCG's). But it also came into my mind that its a matter that the players should adopt. Being a casual player, not being able to play competitively at the moment, I can't seem to tell what tourney players think. Every Magic fanatic should know this change. And as mature players, they should face this reality. I love the game and I want it to continue (As other people in the forums also say)until new and interested people would appreciate what we play. Its just it for now. After Legions, Scourge comes in. How would it fair against other expansions? Will it exceed our expectations? Any new mechanic would be fun to explore and experiment on. I think that is what we should look for: Ways on how to make the game better. Just play on folks!
