Okay,
here it is, I've finally gotten my faeces together, and I'm
working on new material, which should be collectively completed
around xmas. This time, I'll have 6 tracks rather than 3. I have
ditched the entire slow/gothic/keybordy sound that might have
been heard in the track "Poison", and instead gone for
a harsher sound... It sounds kind of like a mix between Ice
Palace and WAM, only with more prominent bass guitar.
This
time around, I've decided to go for a more poetic approach
lyrically, instead of the philosophical stuff that was on my
last MCD. I'm still including a Lycanthropic Warrior
rerecording, and actually, I've already completed that (added a
solo and everything). It is a suited inclusion, because it
symbolises the combining of IP and WAM styles.
I'll
have a sample up as soon as I add vocals to one of the tracks,
which might take a few weeks, I'm not sure...
In
future I'll probably create a new project if I feel the need to
experiment to the extent that I did with the "Poison"
track...
Oh,
and it also occurred to me to explain that I have no more copies
of WAM left (Necrogoat might have some, I'm not sure) and 14
copies of Ice Palace left.

I've
decided to drop the title "Xeraxis" and just go with
my actual name.
There
has been almost no progress as far as recording material goes.
I'm unsure about the future of the project, so I probably won't have
anything completed soon.
If
I end up releasing an MCD, it will contain a rerecording of
Lycanthropic Warrior and a couple of other tracks, I'm not sure
how many.

Today
I woke with indecision. To kill myself, or to record a
Stormweaver track, that was the question posed to me by the
voices in my head - and I'm still here, so I must have recorded
something...
The
track, entitled "Poison" turned out quite well, so I
have added a sample of it to the discography section. As I
mentioned in April's news, this stuff is somewhat more melodic,
and I even used keyboards! Shock fucking horror! Also, there is
no distortion on the vocals this time around, mostly because I
was able to discover a solution to my troubles with recording
them. Enjoy! (Oh sorry, I mean "suffer!").
Also,
the latest update to the Kry saga, involves a turnaround of
sorts, so that now one of the tracks WILL in fact appear on a
compilation tape, which is excellent, because the three of us
who were involved in the project are really quite attached to
what we created, and it will be great to get some of it out into
the big wide world.

I
have started working on a new Stormweaver release. This one will
contain more tracks than the last one, and is so far sounding a
little bit more melodic.
I
have also decided not to go ahead with the Kry MCD after all.
The few tracks I have are not really worth enough on their own -
There had been some chance of getting one of the tracks onto a
compilation tape, but that doesn't look like it is going to
happen now, either.

No
progress has been made on the Kry MCD.

Two
changes in the track listing have occurred - The removal of the
two tracks entitled "Terror Quest" and
"Observing a Great Eternal Nothing". These two songs
were originally going to be included on the CD, as they were
written by myself during the writing of the Soulblighter demo
'Ice Palace'.
I
have, though, decided that they do not live up to the writing
standard of the other three tracks, which have already been
completed, and so, they are no more. Due to this, what was at
one time going to be a longer CD, is now an MCD, which contains
only 3 tracks, similarly to the Soulblighter demo, although the
length of this new release is much longer, due to the individual
length of each track.
Now
that I have finished recording, I need only to complete the
cover design, before I can begin selling it, so there should not
be much more waiting involved. Also, because I have cut the
'title track' from the recording, I can no longer use it for the
CD's title, so the new title will be "War Against
Morals".
On
another note, I am considering 'releasing' an MCD entitled "Kry",
which will contain three tracks of raw black metal from during
2001, where I accompanied Dave Thomas and Dom Zugai for a few
short months in an attempt to start a three piece black metal
band, which left behind this small legacy before failing. I
might print a short number of copies on demand, and perhaps also send
some along with the Stormweaver disk, when it has been
accomplished.

I
have finished recording the first of five tracks for my upcoming
demo, and I'm fairly pleased with the result. A sample of the
track, which is called 'Plague Bearer', can be downloaded here,
and in the discography section.
The music is
darker, and faster than the stuff I did on Ice Palace, and the
tracks are longer. The disk will be entitled "Observing a
Great Eternal Nothing", and the track listing is now
complete (although last minute changes are always lurking), so
here it is:
Stormweaver
- Observing a Great Eternal Nothing
1.
Plague Bearer
2.
The Moral Epidemic
3.
Madness and the Beholder
4.
Terror Quest
5.
Observing a Great Eternal Nothing
I
was considering including an intro, or some other kind of
instrumental track, but I will do that last, if I do it at all.

I
am feeling comfortable with the name change, and I am working on
new material.
I
think in my previous effort, there was a lot of treading
(obviously) in places where others have already tread. Burzum
and Abyssic Hate are the most prominent examples, but
I think this time my influences are more varied.
I
am not having to create a sound now, only change it and allow it
to evolve, which is a lot more enjoyable, and it is allowing me
to write more comfortably.
As
for lyrics, I have done very little. I think that more care
should be taken this time, though...
'Ice
Palace' is still selling, slowly, and there are now 26 copies
left.

It
has been only a little over a month since the release of the
first demo for Soulblighter, but now, things have evolved. Aside
from the obvious redesigning of the official website, the band
name has been changed, from Soulblighter to Stormweaver.
The
Soulblighter demo 'Ice Palace' can still be purchased, and the
three songs on that demo are still part of my slowly growing
retinue of compositions. I was, however, becoming increasingly uncomfortable
with the title of 'Soulblighter', for various reasons, and the
new title is far more fitting for my purpose and direction.
That
purpose and direction will not be immediately apparent, and I
will not discuss it here. However, soon, perhaps in December
2001 or January 2002, I will release the second demo for my
one-man band. It will be the first disk to bear the name 'Stormweaver',
and it will contain approximately 5 tracks of hateful, Chaotic
Black Metal!
