The Descendants of Henry VII of England



I have long maintained a file on descendants of King James I & VI. I have now created a file on the remaining descendants of King Henry VII. The format is as follows: Persons who are descended from James I & VI will appear only in the James I files and not in the Henry VII file. Where James I descendants marry other James I descendants, the spouses are marked with ***. When persons in the Henry VII file marry other persons in that file, the spouses are marked with ***. When persons in the Henry VII file marry persons in the James I files, the spouses are marked with ###, and their descendants appear only in the James I files. So far I have not marked persons in the James I files showing when their spouses come from the Henry VII file, but I may do so in the future.

At this point, the Henry VII file contains everything I have found to date. I know I am missing many lines, and will continue researching those lines. If anyone can assist in adding to any of these lines, I would be very grateful for the help. What I have so far is derived from two volumes of Burke’s Peerage, two volumes of Burke’s Landed Gentry, one volume of Burke’s Irish Landed Gentry, Burke’s Extinct Peerage, and Burke’s Extinct Baronetage, Burke’s Commoners, Burke’s Family Records, and Burke’s Peerage online; two volumes of Debrett’s Peerage and Baronetage; The Complete Peerage; various volumes of Genealogisches Handbuch des Adels; and various online sources. Among the latter I found the Stirnet Genealogy database (at www.stirnet.com) particularly useful in sorting out the generations of some families in the 16th through 18th centuries. Some information was also derived from ThePeerage.com and from the Ruvigny Plus site.
