Gary

07/09/03 - Hey, sorry about lack of updates, im lazy :P..anyway Scallywag are making a return on Monday the 15th of Sept at the famous Bar Bliss in Kirkintilloch where we will be playing some new songs and really hope to get a good crowd. Check out "Gigs" for more on that and also who else is playing. The weekend of Friday October 3rd and Saturday October 4th are looking great for us, Firstly we have been invited to play in Dunoon on the 3rd which I cant wait for. Should be an excellent gig with a cool party afterwards :D and then on the Saturday we are playing Kirkintilloch Town Hall, Tickets will be £3.50 so please help us out by coming to that. Also check out "Gigs" for more info about that. Recording is still in the haps, we started but didnt get anywhere so we've put it on hold til we have time but im really hoping that's gonna be soon. Well thats really all so hope to see uz at our gigs, especially Dunoon ;) lol

Gary

30/07/03/ - WE'RE BACK!! Scallywag got together for the 1st time in a while got some practise and some new songs and we have what we need now to record our new album which I cant wait for :D Hopefully that should start really soon when our producer :P Iain Elder gets his gear. We're considering ideas to launch the CD aswell so we'll keep you posted on that as (maybe a good thing :P) youz havent heard from Scallywag in a while and want some sort of return gig along with a CD launch could be in Bar Bliss or in a hall or something, We'll keep you posted and hopefully this CD should get us gigs in Glasgow too. Also new singer search. As you may have noticed on the main page we are looking for a singer. Please look at the application page and if that is you then feel free to apply. I doubt it will be easy but hopefully we'll find someone. Anyway Scallywag are back so look out for us and our brand new set list. Thanks bye

Gary

07/07/03/ - Aye thats right, Andy's away on holiday for 2 weeks but shall return to kick some ass on the drums again :D In other news we are currently considering a change but thats all i'm saying for just now. Nothing much else happening, no gigs etc, but hopefully that should all change when Andy gets back!!! have a good time Andy and have a good summer to everyone else :D

Gary

25/06/03/ - Hey i think Scallywag for 1st time this year are having a wee chill although we did play Bar Bliss on Monday as wee last minute gig but for the 1st time this year we have no gigs confirmed :( If anybody has any that they want us to play in we're available again after July 14th as when Andy returns from holiday and if not we'll concentrate on getting this 2nd CD ready. Thats all I have to say so goodbye

Gary

18/06/03/ - Howdi, thought I'd do a wee update on the site while Gary's away sunning himself in Gran Canaria. First of all the bad news is that we are unable to play Kirky Town Hall because it was moved to July when Andy's away on holiday :-(. Shettleston was fun, the other bands were really good and it was a great night, our set had a few technical problems, but ah well sh*t happens. The other news is that we're planning on recording our EP towards the end of this month and into July with it being released July/August time, we will be doing so with the help of Iain Elder so thanks to him. After Gary and I ended up hating the last EP we're going to be a lot more careful with this one so hopefully it'll be a CD most will enjoy. Well that's about it I think, Au Revoir

Mark

28/05/03 - Hey, well the Allan Glens gig was cancelled, hopefully will actually go ahead in the summer if we can, we'll keep you posted on that. Renfrew Ferry gig was good fun, well to the organisers and the other bands for putting on a great show. If you didnt see Newspeak try catch them because they were shit hot and i'm not ass kissing lol. Cheers to anyone who came and enjoyed us :-) We got tickets today for our gig with The Plimsoles and Kicking Buckets, tickets are £3 and theres a bus that goes right to the place from the town, i'll give you proper directions if you need to know them, we would like to sell our tickets so please come, shud be a great gig :-) We're waiting on the Kirkintilloch Town Hall gig being confirmed but it hopefully will be asap and we'll let you know whats happening with that. That one must sell the tickets so please come to it aswell if possible. Hopefully we'll get lots more gigs over the summer with yesterday being our 17th gig which we are delighted to have played that many in just over a year, thanx to everyone thats given us a gig. I think thats all as I have no idea whats happening about Glasgow Academy's battle of the bands. Cyas later

Gary

18/05/03 - Hello, Right ok - Allan Glens Gala Day in Bishopbriggs, Sunday 25th of May at 1pm til 5pm, Scallywag, Daedalian, Middel Idiots and 1 more who has not been decided yet plus loads of other entertaining things to keep you amused. Entry is free so everybody should come along for a great day out weather permitting. Allan Glens is on Kirkintilloch Road which is the main street in Bishopbriggs. You cant miss it, it has huge rugby parks and you'll notice all the Gala Day stuff neway. So we hope to see you all there. Thats all the gig news for just now as I'm still not sure yet about whats happening about Renfrew Ferry. Yesterday we practised at Mark's and we have 3 new songs written, 1 of which is almost fully complete and 2 which need work but we think that should be enough songs now to make our new CD planned for the summer. More on that as time progresses but we are all really happy with our new songs and cant wait to get them recorded. Well thats all so I hope to see uz all on Sunday bye bye

Gary

I cant think of anything else thats worth reporting apart from new material coming along nicely but no official plans for a time of releasing a new CD thanks bye

Gary

Gary

10/04/03 - Hi just a quick update to say that MP3s are back up and can be found in the "Downloads" section. The songs are Asking Price and Where Do I Go From Here? but they were recorded on Mark's computer and the tuner was broken etc so they aint great quality just 2 demos so uz know wot we sound like (kinda :-s) if uz havent heard us before. They will be replaced by new ones when we record our new CD. Ok thats all for now cyas later

Gary

09/04/03 - Hey people, we played Bishopbriggs High School's Battle of the Bands on Monday night there, it was a good night and fun playing and we would just like to congratulate The Fools and Autopilot for joint winning and deservingly so, so well done to them :-) We are playing Arbroath on Wednesday April 23rd and a coach will be picking people up from Kirkintilloch Post Office costing £5 that includes ticket. It should be a really great night so get in touch if you want to come with us. Last night the Kirkintilloch Town Hall gig for April 26th was cancelled so if ud bought a ticket for that you will be refunded if you can find who you bought it off or they can find you. We are also playing Bar Bliss on Monday 28th of April with Roadside Theory, The Plimsoles and 1 more band who we havent decided yet. I think thats it really, new songs still being worked on for new album, cant wait cyas

Gary

25/03/03 - Hi well since my last update we got offered 2 last min gigs 1 in Castlemilk and 1 in Bar Bliss which we played and were fun altho we had few technical problems at Castlemilk wi sound etc :-s, Cheers to Moose for joining us on "stage" at Bar Bliss last nite that was a good laugh havin an R'sonabout reunion of Lost In Time :-D neway lots of gigs to be played in the future which is so much fun and you can find them all on the gigs page. I'm not sure what is happening about the Kirkintilloch Town Hall gig yet, maybe a venue change wi a cut in prices but i still do not know. I will let uz know as soon as we do. Plans for a 1 year on gig from our 1st ever gig last May is going under way, just need to find a venue then we're sorted. We owe a big thank you to the people who are coming to help us just now especially to Ross McFarlane and Brian McPhee who have bn a big help to us and everyone whos part of this programme for gettin us the Renfrew Ferry gig etc, more to come on that. I think thats just about everything covered, So i'll cyas at the gigs and we are still working on our new CD. FOUR WHOLE NEW SONGS made for it plus few groovy bonus tracks ;-) and I cant wait to get them recorded cyas later

Gary

11/03/03 - Heyho, cheers to anyone who came to Bar Bliss last nite and well done to the other bands too. I got the Skunk Marozius EP and its pretty good so try get it, its only £1. Anyway thats an end for us to a nice wee run of gigs we had there and all were fun. Unless we get something lined up quickly I think we are finished for March and our next adventure is our 1st ever Battle Of The Bands so hopefully we'll do quite well until then we'll just practise and write new songs for a future new CD which we are in the makings of just now, cant wait to do that. Kirky Town Hall tickets ARE ON SALE so please come and get one off us, its ONLY £6 not that much really and should be an excellent night. Not much else to say really coz aint much else to broadcast live over the internet to all uz lovely people so im gona go to school now. Enjoy the rest of March and we'll cyas in April but keep coming back to good old http://www.scallywag.tk for any news on new gigs, new music, new band members (coz we did a sack Mark petition last nite and got many ppl to sign it lol :-p) and anything else that might be new cyas later cheers

Gary

08/03/03 - Howdy Rockers, a big big thank you to anyone who came to Tuscany last night, it was a small crowd but a fun kick ass gig which we enjoyed, Welks and Middel Idiots were great too :-) I think Tuscany's idea might be getting changed to something like £3 for all ages. I will confirm once i know but in the mean time come see us at Bar Bliss on Monday playing with Radix, Middel Idiots and Skunk Marozius as per usual its free :-) so come on in and see us play. The Battle Of The Bands at Bishy High is going to Tuesday 8th Of April so please come if your a pupil and vote for us. Theres 6 bands and i think we're on 3rd, should be cool and would be great to win. Well thats all I have to report so cheers again to anyone who came last night and cyas on Monday bye bye

Gary

03/03/03 - Hey, Gig in Shettleston was really cool 2nite. Crowd were great and so were the other bands - Skunk Marozius, Radix and The Plimsoles. Cheers to The Plimsoles for giving us the gig 2nite and also for the thanks on their CD which we very flattered by lol. Also cheers to the people who bought the remaining copies of our CD. Well Tuscany's on Friday night people. We still dont know the line up, its supposed to be Regular Joe and Drive but i've heard Drive cant make it so we'll wait and see how that goes. Try come its £5 at door and should be a good night. Also Bliss on Monday aswell its free and always fun so come along and see us wi Radix, Skunk Marozius and Middel Idiots. Thats all for just now come back soon to find out what really happened to Mark's pet Turtoise when we bring you the 2nd half of "When Pet Stunts Go Wrong!!" toodles for now bubye

Gary

28/02/03 - Hey just a quick update to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US!!! :-) Scallywag are officially 1 year old today as if you scroll down to a post on 28/02/02 you will discover that that was the day we announced Andy as our drummer and officially became Scallywag :-) Heres to our 1st birthday.. lets hope for many more bye bye

Gary

25/02/03 - Hey well where to start? Cause this update is all about gigs, gigs, gigs, a compilation CD, gigs, gigs and some more gigs. Ok well a good place would be to thank everyone for coming to see us at Bar Bliss last night. That was such a great gig and well done to all the other bands for playing damn well last night. Next Monday - 03/03/03 wot a cool date :-) we are heading out to Shettleston to play at Shettleston Community Centre with Radix, Skunk Marozius and The Plimsoles. Tickets are £3 if anyone wants to come to this gig and you can get them from me. To follow a trend Monday night gigs we are back at Bar Bliss on Monday - 10/03/03 playing with Radix, Skunk Marozius and The Middel Idiots. As usual its free and we want uz great people to come down and support us again like uz did last night coz uz people rock and uz know who uz are :-) anyway before that Bar Bliss gig we are playing Tuscany Night Club on Friday - 07/03/03 with 2 other undecided bands. This is a new thing started by Bar Bliss which will have its opening night this Friday - 28/02/03 with Daedalian, Three Days Born and The Middel Idiots playing and also a DJ. This will take place every Friday night. It's an under 18s night and you pay £5 at the door so everyone come along the 1st week, have a great night then come back the 2nd week and see us. The Arbroath gig is still to be confirmed this could be either April, May or June so we'll just wait and see. Bishopbriggs High School is running a "Battle Of The Bands" with a date yet to be confirmed but will be near Easter. Bands and People attending this gig have to go to Bishopbriggs High School so sorry if you dont, you cant come :-( But if you do go to Bishy please come along and cheer us on and help us win. Now the big gig at Kirkintilloch Town Hall on Sat 26/04/03 with Drive, Sorreal, Middel Idiots and Daedalian priced £6 and yes we know that is quite alot to pay but really its not that much for what will be a great night with 4 great bands and us lol and also a bar making it just over £1 a band which is fair and its ages to save up your money and come along. So if you want a ticket you can get them from me, Andy or Mark and please come coz u'll miss out on a great night at Kirkintilloch Town Hall's last ever gig as it will be getting knocked down or something after. I'm not quite sure what :-s Scallywag are also going to be playing an outdoor gig at Allan Glen's Gala Day, that is on Sat 25/05/03 and is possibly free. We arent sure about other bands and whether we are to pick them ourselves so more about it will come later when we know. Anyway thanx to Bar Bliss to say thanx for the Monday night gigs we all play. John the Bar Man is going to arrange for some bands possibly about 8 to be on a Compilation CD with about 3 songs each in the near future which will go on sale and be sent to places around Scotland for gigs so that would be great and will be a great CD when its made. Stay tuned for more about that and more gigs as they get confirmed including a "Battle Of The Bands" out at Universal Connections in Cambuslang, Some places in the Town and maybe just maybe (but doubtfully) a big big support slot but that will be confirmed if it happens. I'm away now to wonder if anyone will actually read this and sorry for making it so long but there was alot to report. Thanx for reading and cyas all somewhere bye bye p.s I would just like to take this time to thank John from Bar Bliss for all he is doing for us and other locals bands. He is a great guy and is doing so much for us so thanks :-)

Gary

01/02/03 - Hey, well its a new month and a new website for Scallywag with new features such as wallpapers and brand new pics for your viewing pleaure, It's an interesting date 2day isnt 01/02/03 hee hee cool, ok im sad! :-( well anyone the Bar Bliss gig on Monday went so well. We had a great night and the other 3 bands were great too. You can catch us there on Febuary 24th with such good bands as A Close Last, m.u.w.k and Regular Joe, should be a great night too, Go to gigs for more gigs that Scallywag will be featured in over next few months. New MP3s up, the quality is poor and we probably could have played them better but it gives an idea of what our new stuff is like :-) Also vote in the new poll please and answer the new guestbook questions. I dont know what else to say so yeah just have fun at our new site and thanx for visiting :-) bye bye all cyas

Gary

09/01/03 - Hey, Well its a start of a new year and almost Scallywag have now almost been together for a whole year, it's been pretty damn quick and we managed to get 6 gigs in last year. The good news for this year for us and anyone who cares is that by the end of April we will have played at least 5 gigs we have:
Bar Bliss - 27/01/03 with Skunk Marozius and The Welks
Kirkintilloch Town Hall - probably Feb 22nd but maybe end of March, other acts to be confirmed and Bar by Bar Bliss
Bishopbriggs High School - Febuary or March, possibly a pupils only thing with bands from the school
Somewhere in Arbroath - March with Omar, maybe another band and our buddies Sorreal and Daedalian. There will be a coach taking you there and back for that and should be a great night.
Finally, Kirkintilloch Town Hall again - 26/04/03 with Drive, Middel Idiots and Daedalian also possibly Bar by Bar Bliss
We hope to have as many people as possible at these gigs and hopefully will get more arranged around and after that time. Scallywag now have 2 new songs that arent on our EP - "Asking Price" and "Where Do I Go From Here" which we think are of a better standard to our EP songs so if we can keep writing songs to a higher standard as we are working on new material all the time then a 2nd EP may not be too far away with much better material on it. Andrew also bought a drum kit last night so we can get more practises now away from the pad which may help us to work on new songs. Thats just about everything, It's been a while since a big update. If you've actually bothered to read this then thank you, you are a star, coz i have no idea if anyone actually reads our news. Thank you and good bye

Gary

01/01/03 - HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM ALL AT SCALLYWAG, HOPE TO SEE YOUZ ALL AT GIGS THIS YEAR AND HOPEFULLY WE WILL BE WRITING SONGS BETTER THAN ANYTHING WE'VE WROTE BEFORE THANX BYEEEEEEEEEE

Gary

22/12/02 - Hello there everybody (if anybody reads this, I dunno :s). First of all Gig was brilliant last night (only one low point was having to cut photosynthesis from the set, sorry to all, sh*t happens). We feel we played better than we have ever played before and enjoyed it a whole lot. The other great thing about last night was how damn good the other bands were, I thought A Close Last were one of the best local punk bands, cheers for making it an impossible set to follow. Three Days Born, The Middel Idiots and as per usual Daedalian were all excellant and made it a great night for us and prob for the rest of the crowd. Where to from now? Well we've got the gig in Lenzie Town Hall to look forward to, and we'll prob be writing if we feel inspired. Cheers to anyone who came and supported last night or bought the cd, really appreciated.

Mark

19/12/02 - Hey everyone, only 2 days away from the biggest gig in Scallywags little life and I can't wait!! Tickets are selling better than expected but if you still want some be sure to get them of either Myself, Gary or Andy. Tomorrow we hit the pad for a final practise and to get the new song "Where Do I Go From Here?" ready for exposure at the gig. We love this song so much that may be finishing with it which will be cool. Great news about the addition of Three Days Born, it's always good to be playing around bands a lot more experienced than ourselves. We'll be on 2nd, with a half hour set, with the tough challenge of following A Close Last but I have a faith we are capable of putting on a really good set for the crowd. So hope to see lots of familiar faces on Saturday should be a fantastic night. Oh, and the website should be more regularly updated as we've been pretty lazy of recent. Until Saturday...c ya

Mark

19/12/02 - Hey, New gig for next year - Lenzie Town Hall, 25th January 2003 with Drive, Middel Idiots and Daedalian, tickets wont be on sale til after the 21st gig and will cost £5. It's a Bar Bliss gig so there will obviously be a bar, Speaking of the 21st gig, tickets are now on sale costing £5 and you can get them through any Scallywag member. Bar Bliss was also be setting up a bar at this one aswell so its definatly worth coming too. Thats all the news for just now and just a quick cheers to Andy Coyle for puttin forward the idea for the gig and filming our Bar Bliss gig last week, the tape was cool and I said I would give Lewis a mention for being 1st person to buy a ticket so cheers Lewis bye all and remember to get ur ticket soon

Gary

08/12/02 - Hey, Blantyre gig was great, well done to all the bands, i enjoyed them all and cheers to Radix for getting us the gig, There was a few slight problems for some bands but all in all it was a good night. We played a comfortable 8 song set and got a good reception. Next big one now is the Kirkintilloch Town Hall gig on Saturday 21st December, tickets are on sale and will cost you £5. The line up is now: Radix
A Close Last
Scallywag
The Middel Idiots
Daedalian
This should be a really good night well worth the £5 and a Bar will be set up too (i think but cant promise) so come along for the Xmas gig on the 21st and just get in touch if you want a ticket. Hopefully we will have confirmation of more gigs soon maybe even another date at Bar Bliss, cheers to all those who came on Friday and to the bands and to whoever bought a CD, byeeee

Gary

03/12/02 - Hey, Bar Bliss gig last night was great fun, we felt we played well and The Middel Idiots kicked ass too. Hopefully we'll play again there in the near future and whats very cool is that we have another gig this week, yes the Blantyre one on Friday, should be a great gig. Kirky Town Hall (Dec 21st) tickets will possibly be going on sale this week priced £5, not a show to be missed though as its gonna kick ass :-). We're in a competition against 3 other bands to write a song to be the theme tune for a group called Gonkins so we'll get to writing a song for that and finally cheers to everyone who came last night hope you had a good night. Thats all I can say really so cyas later bye

Gary

24/11/02 - Hi, Just felt like doing a wee update cause i'm bored even though there isn't really any new news. So i'll just keep you up to date with what is happening. Bar Bliss gig 2nd December, hope everyone comes to that as it is a free entrance :-). I duno if we pick the support band or not but if we do and you are interested in playing then let us know. Blantyre gig on December 6th is now at David Livingstone Memorial Primary School instead of Blantyre High School but that shouldn't affect anyone going with us as we still plan to get the shared bus with Skunk Marozius (if the problems on our guestbook have been sorted by then that is cause if not i dunno what will be happening. So if you wana come to that its £5 that includes ticket and bus journey to and from so get in touch with us for that too. Also Kirkintilloch Town Hall gig December 21st, plans have been started for that one to make it an amazing night and tickets will probably be getting made quite soon and will likely cost £4. Mark and I yesterday got ourselves prepared for future gigs by going out and getting ourselves nice new very loud amps. I got a Marshall MG30DFX 3- watt amp and Mark got a Laney 30 watt bass amp which are both very loud and bugging our parents and neighbours already :-) So bands and fans get in touch about our future gigs and remember our EP is still on sale if you havent purchased one yet. We have sold our original batch and our new on to copying our new ones so sales have been going very well so far and also getting a very good response from them too. All is going well just now. We just need to sort this stupid Skunk Marozius problem (although it only actually is 1 member of them) and things should be fine thank you and bye

Gary

04/11/02 - Hi, We were offered a gig tonight at Bar Bliss on 2nd of December 2002 so hopefully lots of people will come along to that to support us and also the support band has still to be decided. It's free to get in just make sure you buy alot of drink from the bar :-) and that way we'll all be happy. The ring tone was not composed properly so if you got it yesterday go back in and re do it again now. Thats all thanks bye

Gary

03/11/02 - Hi, well its been a while since we've had an update but there hasn't really been that much to say. We took a break after our CD was recorded which is selling well and we're happy with that so far. We are back practising now and stil selling CDs, hopefully plenty more will be sold over the next while including our 2 confirmed gigs, December 6th - Blantyre High School and December 21st - Kirkintilloch Town Hall and hopefully we will have another one soon at Bar Bliss, we are waiting for that to be confirmed after handing in our CD recently. Photosynthesis is now up as a ring tone to compose if you have a Nokia phone. Its under our new section "Ring Tones" suprisingly enough so have fun composing it and have Scallywag as your ring tone. I hope anyone who has our EP is enjoying it and anyone who likes the MP3s will buy it. Thats all i've got to say now so thanks again bye bye

Gary

16/10/02 - Hi well our EP -"We're Not As Think As You Drunk We Are" has been recorded and we are all delighted with the way it has turned out. Copies will now start to be made along with a design for the cover to go on sale very soon priced £3. Check out our new section "Discography" for everything you need to know about this EP including lyrics and how to get a copy. This wont be my last update today as i plan to add MP3s on the site aswell and a new poll. Thanks to everyone that voted in the last poll for our EP name as you can see "We're Not As Think As You Drunk We Are" won with 13 votes followed by "Drowning Fish" with 7 votes. So check back soon for more news and MP3s off our new EP thanks bye

Gary

09/10/02 - Hi, Our gig last night at Harleys in Hamilton went well, We played a good set and were followed up by an amazing performance from Sorreal, well done to them. Tickets arrived in the mail this morning for our Blantyre High School gig. They will be on sale soon once we've worked out the total price for the tickets plus a bus to get you there and back. We reckon £5 but that will be confirmed soon. I think thats all i really have to say apart from i can tell youz again that our EP recording is now less than a week away yay so look out for a "Discography" page coming up soon with details about our EP and of course look out for our EP. Well thats all for just now thanx bye bye

Gary

05/10/02 - Hi, New gig Friday November 15th at Blantyre High School in Blantyre suprisingly enough and we will be playing with Orion, Drifted and Skunk Marozius. Tickets will be £2 but we might be organising a bus with Skunk Marozius which means we may have to charge more but more details about that will follow. Anyway this Tuesday is our next gig and we want people to come please. It may be in Hamilton but it is very simple to get there. You can get a bus to Buchanan Bus Station then either the 263 or the 267 bus to Hamilton Bus Station in which Harley's is right next to the bus station. It will cost £3 to get in but should be good. We will be starting at 9ish and then Sorreal will probably be on about 10ish and they will be drink and what not so please come and make a night of it. Moving on now our recording is just over a week away whooohoo. The poll for the name is going well and we are going to start designer the cover for it soon too and all we need to do after that is record it, make it worth buying and then sell it. More details about how to get one shall be up soon whether you can or cannot get hold of a band member. Well thats all i can think of just now to say so keep checking back for more news and please keep voting for our EP name thank you cyas on Tuesday hopefully bye

Gary

24/09/02 - Hi, We have booked a place in Core Studios in Glasgow on Tuesday October 15th 2002 to record our EP. We haven't a name and are open for suggestions. When we have up to 10 ideas that we like then the EP name will be our new poll. It should have all 10 of our songs on it and the quality will be good so we can replace our MP3's with much better ones. Remember we are playing 2 confirmed gigs. First 1 October 8th - Harleys in Hamilton supporting Sorreal and Second 1 December 21st - Kirky Town Hall with Middel Idiots, Regular Joe, Daedalian and maybe 1 more band. Thats all for just now so remember any suggestions for an EP name then feel free to let us know on the guestbook or message board thanks bye

18/09/02 - Hi, 2 Scallywag gigs have been confirmed and 1 Scallywag EP is going to hopefully be confirmed for the end of this year. The 1st gig is on Tuesday 8th October 2002 at Harley's in Hamilton in which Scallywag will be supporting Sorreal, If anyone wants to come please get in touch with the band. The 2nd gig is Saturday 21st December 2002 at Kirkintilloch Town Hall with Scallywag playing along side The Middel Idiots, Regular Joe and Daedalian and maybe one more band. Many more details on this gig will appear as it is ages away. We hope to get a few more gigs fitted in between those 2 as the gap is quite big. So if anyone wants us to play in any gigs or wants to try arrange one or something then again get in touch. Now on to the EP, we are going to make a call to Core Studios tomorrow to find out about their prices for recording and if it is good we hope to get all 10 of our songs on to an EP to sell to yous lovely people. Depending on the price the number of songs may have to drop but again more details will go up as soon as we know more about it. Thats all i have to say really so check back for more shit on whats happening and hopefully cya at our gigs.

Gary

14/09/02 - Hey there the gig was amazing more about it in Band Diary. New poll now up asking you to rate our gig if you were there and also a new section up in "Our Music" which has details about every song i.e why is was written, what it means etc. No gigs lined up yet but a few being worked on just now so we'll let you know about that soon. Please feel free to leave your comments on our gig on our Guestbook or Message Board and if you want to do a review for the gig then email it to us please and we will stick it on the site. Thats all for just now thanx bye

Gary

08/09/02 - Hi, with less than a week to go i thought i would stick up directions for people who don't live in Bishopbriggs but want to come to our gig:

From Queen Street Station - Get any train that goes to Bishopbriggs (which is the first stop from Queen Street Station) When getting off the train walk down the path towards a pub called "Quins" walk past a bunch of shops like Wh Smith and come up to traffic lights which will be at the entrance to Safeway, Cross over the main road where you will find a bar called Fuel. Keep walking up the road until you come to a church type building called Cadder Church and enter its carpark, Walk round the back of the church where you will find tennis courts walk up the hill path and there you will find the Memorial Hall on your right.

From Buchanan Bus Station - Find either the 88 bus or the 175 bus and make sure they go to Bishopbriggs. Keep going until you see a bar called Fuel on your left and a Safeway on your right. Get out at the 1st bus stop after Fuel and Safeway and keep walking up the road until you come to a church type building called Cadder Church and enter its carpark, Walk round the back of the church where you will find tennis courts walk up the hill path and there you will find the Memorial Hall on your right.

From Kirkintilloch/Lenzie - Get the 88 or 175 bus to Wh Smith in Bishopbriggs which is just past Safeway. Cross over the road and walk back up the way until you come to a church type building called Cadder Church and enter its carpark, Walk round the back of the church where you will find tennis courts walk up the hill path and there you will find the Memorial Hall on your right. Also if you are getting a train then just get off at Bishopbriggs and follow the same directions for Queen Street.

Thats all the directions i know that people might need for just now. Remember there is plenty of tickets left and it should be a great night and also remember you can pay at the door aswell. Check back for more details over this course of the week bye

Gary

02/08/02 - Hey, Great news (well for us anyway) we have booked Bishopbriggs War Memorial Hall for FRIDAY 13TH of SEPTEMBER with Skunk Marozius, Urban Igloo and possibly another band. We've been told we can sell up to roughly 140 tickets which will hopefully go on sale as soon as we have confirmation from the bands they are available on this date. We are hoping to have 5 new songs by then, 1 has been done, so 4 to go. The pad was cool yesterday with the new song that is nameless at the moment has been completely finished and we like it. Thanx for all the guestbook messages, poll votes etc. keep them coming and we hope to see you in the hall on the 13th.

Mark

30/07/02 - Hey, today we got working on recording our songs home made on my computer, quality aint great but sounds fine neway although we had to stop early incase lightning blew up my computer or our guitar amps and that wouldn't have been good. Once we have completed it we will probably happy to send them out to bands etc to get recognition as a band called A Close Last did recently and their cassette was really good so that will probably work out well for them. So if anyone in bands or anything would like a copy of our work then feel free to get in touch with us and we will be happy to send them out either a cd or a tape it will depend on if we actually get a reasonable amount of people asking for them. Also i will try get one or two of them up as mp3's very soon if i can figure out one small part thats much needed. Finally we are still looking for any bands that wanna play gigs as we are wanting to try get something arranged soon so feel free to get in touch about that aswell. For now we will be going back to the Practise Studio on Thursday after a summer break and will get working on our new material and have already started making our old stuff sound better. One last quick note is that it looks like Scallywag will stay as a 3 piece as you may have remembered reading on the site about getting another guitarist, well it didn't work out but everythings fine and we will continue the way we are and hopefully continue to get better and better thank you and bye

Gary

28/07/02 - Hey, Holidays are over now and all members of Scallywag are back and ready to get practising again and working on new material and will be on the look out to get as many gigs as possible. I've considered a new page which will be like a band journal which will be for non important news and keep you up to date with whats happening with us and this news section will just be kept for the more important news so that should be up soon thats all for now so thanks for coming to our site and hope to see you at a show soon bye

Gary

19/07/02 - Hi just a quick note to say that Gary and Mark will be away for the next week down to Oasis in England so we will be not be around for any questions or anything and i've heard a rumour that Andy is in North Korea on a tadpole saving mission so he wont be around either so anything you want to ask or have to say either email us or leave a message on the guestbook or message board. Mark and I will be taking our guitars with us so hopefully should come up with some new material while we are away and come back home and perfect it. Thats all for now cyas in a week bye

Gary

16/07/02 - Hi, I'm home from my holiday now :( but spose its good to be back and i've not spoke to anyone yet so i have no idea whats happening with the band but keep coming back and checking cause i do know that 2 gigs are being talked about at present, the 1st being the Festival in Bishopbriggs with many talented bands playing that day and emm us to and also a gig in the east end of Glasgow with bands The Plimsoles and Leap Of Faith so we'll keep you's up to date with that. Keep answering our questionaire thing then one day when i'm bored i'll change the questions just coz i'm mad like that and stuff and if you are reading this today, today being Tuesday July 16th 2002 then start singing "Happy Birthday" to me (Gary) coz i am 17 today yay!!!! and just a cool little story from last night. I was in my plane going home last night and i looked at my watch and it said 12am so yay happy birthday Gary i'm 17 now. So 1 hour later we arrive back in Glasgow International Airport and the clocks have to go back 2 hours so its now 11pm on July 15th so hmmm i'm 16 again rather interesting coz then 1 hour later it was 12am again so yay happy birthday Gary i'm 17 again. I thought that was very cool even though it has nothing to do with this band apart from it happened to the most talented member lol. Thats all i've got to say so keep coming back for more and more lovely news and gig info bye

Gary

11/07/02 - Hi, I'm still in Ayia Napa having a mad time and just thought i'd leave an update coz noone else has and i'm bored but thats all i have to say really. Feel free to let us know what you think of it and whether you like it better than the last one. Thats all for now although i'm trying to get MP3.com to put up Photosynthesis for you's to download but its not quite working yet but hopefully will be soon anyway thats all bye

Gary

22/06/02 - Hi, slight delay on the announcing of the guitarist but we will do it sometime soon aslong as nothing happens that means it doesnt work out. I (Gary) will be going on holiday next Monday - July 1st and so is Andy round about that time aswell plus Mark and I will be away for a week on July 19th so not much will be happening through the month of July but hopefully gigs galore when we are all together again in August so if anybody would like us to play in any gigs after July feel free to get in touch with us. Just like to say thanx to the people that stuck up for us in our guestbook, Brian that was quite a message you left, cheers man and Jutt congratulations on getting our 100th guestbook message. If you read on i think it was Daedalians site that you would get a prize for getting the 100th message then u were led on sorry there will be no prize sorry Jutt. Thats all for now have a good summer everyone goodbye

Gary

18/06/02 - Hello, Tonight Scallywag got ourselves a new guitarist to change us from a 3 piece to a 4 piece. I'm not 100% sure this person wants their name spread around yet so i will likely say who it is tomorrow. This person is a very good guitarist and will certainly help us to improve and make better songs. They will be playing a mixture of lead and rhythm. I will be doing mainly rhythm and my vocals, Mark will still be on bass and vocals and Andy will still be on drums. So look out as Scallywag should now be getting alot better and hopefully have a good future ahead of us. More announcements will be made tomorrow when everything is a bit more clearer and incase it doesnt work out in which that case Scallywag will continue as our wonderful little 3 piece but i'm sure it will work out. Nothing else really to say now so check back tomorrow to see who Scallywag's new guitarist is. Goodbye

Gary

17/06/02 - Hey, just put the awards page up so check it out if you like. Going to the pad to practise on Sat, 2 new songs in the works. Quick note to everyone before I go the new New Found Glory album -"Sticks and Stones" is sooooooooooooooooooo damn good, the end.

Mark

12/06/02 - Hey, We have a new poll up "Is Punk Rock overplayed?" let us know what you think. Ballad Of An Ass seems to be the favourite song with it being way above the rest. Lastly i would just like to say Hi to Ryan (as he requested) Ryan can play one of our songs meaning he must be a good guitarist and also will be happy to help us out if we ever need a 2nd guitar in our songs so Ryan my friend this glass of lime juice and slice of bread (seeing how you have a thing for bread) is for you!!!!!! That's all for now people bye

Gary

12/06/02 - Hi, New guestbook questions have been made so go on and answer them, you know you wanna. I am also in the process of a new poll. Just cant think of anything. Not much else to say now. Keep coming back for news on future gigs which hopefully we will have a good turn out for. So long, farewell and peace to all types of fruit and veg goodbye

Gary

10/06/02 - Hey, The last of the 5 reviews is now up again we didn't get anything good said about us but thats ok. For all those people who felt all sorry for Moose, "Moose's Section" is now gone. I didn't even know it was gone so Mark must have done that sometime recently. Thats all ive got to say except please use our guestbook. We feel unwanted that theres never a guestbook message and Andrew will start crying and Mark is considering suicide. Now we dont want that do we? So please say hi to us. Cheers for now bye bye my friends of the Nugolama Mountains in Gooyumaurially.

Gary

08/06/02 - Hi, Long time since we've done an update mainly because nothing much has been happening but for Mark and I the exams are now over yaaaaaaaaaa. That means that Scallywag can get back to normal now and the working of new material has already started as we now have another one to add to our collecion called "I Can't Stand You" A few more will be appearing soon and we'll hopefully have enough to play them at our next gig. Speaking of gigs there has been talks just now about an outdoor festival type thing in about August featuring such bands as us, Skunk Marozius, Daedalian, All Of A Sudden and lots more. So if all goes to plan then that should be a very very good day. Scallywag are going to the Practise Pad today for the first time in a while (not counting that practise we had with other bands recently.) So that will be good as we can work on our new material and practise the rest of our stuff while being filmed. Yes we are going to make a video of todays events so hopefully that will turn out well and give some people who watch it a few laughs and will also be good to be able to look back at in a few years and see how much or how little we've progressed. A CD is being worked on as it stands we have 5 songs fully complete that we used at the last gig, another 1 worked on just now and about another 4-5 songs needing music to be made to put to a CD and we have about another 50 songs somewhere that no one knows what will ever happen to them and if they will ever be used but hopefully we should have about a 10 track EP to be on sale at next gig or whenever and also to send to reviewers etc to put you off buying it. Anyway thats all i've got to say now except for good luck to Regular Joe in your search for 2 new guitarists. If you aren't aware their 2 guitarists quit recently. So Regular Joe hope it goes well and we see you's again soon at another fine show, bye everyone

Gary

24/05/02 - Hey, June 27th Gig at Kirkintilloch Town Hall has indeed been cancelled. We are hoping still to get atleast one gig at some point in the summer and we'll keep you up to date on how this progresses. We were at the Practise Pad for the first time since the gig with 3 of the 4 bands that we were meant to be playing with. It went well but the other 2 bands might not have been ready for that gig so better safe than sorry. Two more reviews to go up soon both reviewers for Daedalian. I've only seen one of them so far and we get a mention for our "raw talent" so thats the only good part so far. We have no idea what to expect for the second one though and we'll stick it up as soon as we can. Thats all i have to say and remember Scallywag are sitting all bored in our houses incase yous need a support band or whatever cause we will be more than happy to play at gigs bye

Gary

24/05/02 - Yo, Well I haven't done much on the site recently and I can't be bothered studying so I thought I'd do an update, as I can see Goose has covered most of the news in the previous update but just to let you know he is just trying to scare you, my mummy told me when I was very young the bogeyman does not exist which Gary's mum obviously forgot to inform him of and also no one except Gary has a favourite teddy bear because we are not all that sad so fear not, never listen to the boy. The truth is that if you don't come to our gig then spiderman will steal your prettiest slice of blue cheese, so be warned! Anyway back to the real world June 27th should be a great night, we are improving our old songs a bit, writing new and hopefully better songs and the biggest improvement of all, Gary will strum the guitar up and down, lets hear a round of applause for the boy!! No?? Yeh I agree. I doubt we'll do another cover, prob just Dammit again but hey you never know, well apart from the Greatest Love Of All cover that is. Anyway I've rambled on too much, later

Mark

23/05/02 - Hey, Second update today because i've seemed to have deleted the update about the gig so here we go again - Scallywag will be taking the stage again on June 27th at Kirkintilloch Town Hall again this time the line up will be Urban Igloo, Nawdle, Scallywag, All Of A Sudden and Skunk Marozius who are both Headlining, Should be another great night so come along. Tickets will be on sale very soon. Scallywag are getting 30 minutes this time so we will have to come up with probably 2 new songs, 1 of them hopefully being our cover of the Greatest Love Of All which you's voted for us to play in a recent poll. We will also hopefully have CD's available to buy that night in a range that will not make people say "No way am i paying that for a CD" so lets say £25? no? anyone? ok then probably about £2 but that has still to be decided. The View From The Pit reviewers will be there again hopefully so we will try our best to make it a better night for them than it was last time. Thats all so keep checking "Gigs" for details and come to our gig or The Bogey Man will eat your favourite Teddy Bear muhahahaha bye

Gary

23/05/02 - Hello, New updates on the site today. First of all we now have a page called "Gig Pictures" which contains pics of our 1st gig at Kirky Town Hall on May 4th. Secondly we now have all 3 reviews of the gig up on "Gig Reviews" look if you dare cause they aren't very nice. "Gaz's Page has been updated with a new poll and a lovely pic of me and my guitar at the bottom and there is also a pic of my guitar in the "Equipment" under "Guitars" so feel free to check everything out. Thats all for now really cyas later people, i'm off now to study for French and Craft & Design that are both on tomorrow, how crap is that? lol bye

Gary

20/05/02 - Hi i dont have much to say. I know i usually say that and end up with a 10 minute update though but anywag, Scallywag involved in another gig with Skunk Marozius, All Of A Sudden and maybe another band, We aint sure of it so we will keep you updated on the progress of that. Hopefully going to be around the end of June so cancel your holiday if you are away then to come and see us. Not much happening just now with Mark and I on exams and lucky git Andy not on exams but all will be back to soon. We are altering our songs just now to cut down or use of bass and also trying to come up with new material. We are waiting on 2 more gig reviews, wonder if we will be slaughtered again. We are not against Duncan Garvie's opinion as its up to him what he says and it's good to get a proper review. Thats all keep checking out our site and come to anymore gigs we may have over the summer cyas

Gary

9/5/02 - Hey, New section up its called Gig Reviews and has our 1st ever review of our 1st ever gig and this guy was not impressed with the night at all 1 out of 10 he gave it, 1 OUT OF 10 lol, Anyone agree or disagree? he also thinks we suck "Scallywag is quite obviously a totally inexperienced band that just lacks the practice to put on a show. Their punk style totally offsets the usual stereotypes that punk is easy to play because they just don’t seem to be able to play it. They are totally out of time with each other, and have a sound that is so bass heavy that even if they were together, you wouldn’t be able to make out what they’re playing." For the full review check out the review page, We are not bothered by this review as this guy obviously is not into punk music at all and cant tell the difference between punk and ska punk and also we are quite honoured to have recieved such a bad review coz i found it so funny when i read it lol. Thats all i have to say really, i fot the review was funny and Duncan Garvie is a bit of an ass but nevermind we will continue playin our crappy songs bye all

Gary

6/5/02 - Yo, Well it's all over now, the gig completely and utterly ROCKED! On behalf of the band I'd like to say THANK YOU to the crowd you helped make it a night I'll never forget, even the ones who threw water at me, lol. I was pleased with how the set went, especially dammit and well I guess everyone knows I'm a big big girl now. The other bands were awesome and I think anyone that attended would have to agree so keep a check out for any gigs from either bands coming up. That's me finished putting the lyrics up so you can go check them out if you feel the need, anyway I'm shattered after NFG last night who were brilliant so I'll c ya all later!

Mark

03/05/02, Hello we are now on the eve of the gig, less than 24 hours to go til Scallywag take the stage for the very first time in wot we hope will b a very sucessful gig. I'm going to my bed coz i will need lots of rest and a beauty sleep for the big day 2moz, i dyed my hair purple 2day i like it i hope everyone else does to and i'm sure im speaking on behalf of all the band when i say we are very excited about tomorrow and hope it goes really well and uz will all become Scallywag fans after it and i dont get mobbed by 2 many girls after it since there is only one of me but lots of girls will be fine tho just not "too" many. I'm off now later dudes and dudettes

Gary

Iv said far to much so i'll cyas in 1 week goodnite take care and im off to Israel now to interpret Spanish to a blind kid from New Zealand, man my wrist hurts from all that.........typing goodbye everybody

Gary

14/04/02 Yo, I'm back from the not so sunny Majorca, I see we have the 50 tickets, I must warn you though that there a some fake dodgy tickets being sold from Skunk Marozius so for full safety guarenteed buy from us ;-) (jk). Hopefully we'll get out to the practice pad soon just to make sure we are ready for the 4th of may. I admit I will be sh*tting myself when I walk out there so if I screw up Lyrics, Bass and remain silent for the whole night then don't be suprised :-S, but you never know for a change things might go well. As you may have noticed none of Andy's stuff has gone up but we'll try and get the profile up within the next week! cheers

Mark

11/04/02 Hey, just wanna say that we now have tickets for the Town Hall gig on May 4th, We only have 50 out of the 550 so if you want one contact us soon and we will let you know on the site when we have sold out ours in which if you want one you will have to contact the other bands or we'll see what we can do. Thats all for now bye

Gary

10/04/02 Hello, Tickets will be on sale for the Kirky Town Hall gig on Saturday May 4th as from tomorrow. Regular Joe and Skunk Marozius have most of the tickets for Bishopbriggs people and Daedalian for Kirky and Lenzie people but we will still have some if you want to contact us to get any. Well things are looking great just now, Marks on holiday and i broke my bloody guitar but hopefully that will be easily fixed within the next while. We should have some more recent pics up soon so that you can see us as a band and see what Andrew looks like if you do not know him. I dont know what else to say except for hey to our dutch friends from the band Scallywag who contacted us recently and were cool about us having the same name. You can get their link on the links section but their site is in dutch. Anyway i'm away now, Hopefully see as many of uz possible at our wonderful gig on May 4th later.

Gary

05/04/02 Yo, Well thank God a date has finally been decided, it is definite seen as Daedalian have now printed the tickets and they might be on sale allready but I'm not too sure, 4th of May's sure to be a great night hopefully we'll warm the crowd up nicely for the rest of the proceedings. We were at the practice pad studios yesterday and it was really encouraging and it was a good laugh even although I coughed my way through many songs. Andy's really getting to grips with the drumming and sounding good and so were the songs (well to me anyway) and you never know maybe you people will even like a few of them. We've decided the concert order (which will remain secret) so we are just getting that perfect so we don't have 550 people laughing at us! Anyway that's about all I have to say, c ya

Mark

03/04/02 Hi again people, The gig has yet once again been changed but this time im sure its staying MAY 4TH, same place same time, check out gigs for more details. There is 550 tickets going on sale so there should be no problem getting one. Wow though we are going to be opening up a gig on our very 1st performance in front of 550 people, that is scary. We havent really got any other news to say, we're still trying to make this cd and upload some songs for MP3s and the lyrics will probably go up after the gig so we hope to see many of uz there. I have another site idea saved so im gonna get to work on that and have a new look to this site, thats all for now and please pray for us that we dont suck in front of 550 people which could include YOU!!!! bye bye

Gary

26/03/02 Hey, We have been lazy recently and not done much updating but we hope to get a new look to the site soon, a new poll and more features. Anyway the main bit of news is yes the gig has once again changed its date it is now APRIL 27TH at the same place. I cant guarentee now that this will be the definate date but i think it will be. Not really much else to say, just keep cheacking back for updates and new features and hopefully cyas on april 27th bye

Gary

07/03/02 Yo, BIG NEWS - THE GIG IS BACK ON - 19TH OF APRIL!!!! I personally can't wait and i'm sure Gary and Andrew feel the same! 28/02/02 Hey, I'M BACK, finally got a new keyboard so now Goose doesn't have to run this site all by himself. On behalf of Gary & Myself and Scallywag Inc. we would like to announce ANDREW MOWAT as our new drummer, after his impressive showing on wednesdays practice session we decided there is no point wasting time so he's now officially in! Hopefully we'll get the profile etc. done. Unfortuently the April 3rd Gig has been postponed until further notice which could help us get in more preparation which i guess means it isn't to bad a thing...for more details check the Skunk Marozius Site. Last piece of news is that after being off for study leave today new music has been written for the song "Take" so maybe you'll be hearing that one when the gig finally happens. Anyway I'll be off now, c ya

MARK

27/02/02 Hi, We were at the Practise Pad in Maryhill tonight and Andrew (drummer) that went with us certainly impressed us with his drum beats so the announcing of Andrew joining the band will be once he signs a massive contract and we get in touch with all the newspapers and hold a huge press conference. None of that will probably get done so we'll likely just announce Andrew as our drummer very soon but don't tell anyone yet incase it doesn't work out but i'm sure it will. So hopefully we can get Andrew on our site with his own page, profile and pics and maybe even a fan club for the boy. Not much else to say but with the way things are looking we should definately be ready for the gig on April 3rd. Ta ta for now

We are still getting alot of pointless messages in our guestbook thanx to all the people have nothing good to say.
