Australia Beat Springboks

(9/7/2000)

Australia 40-23 South Africa

Australia notched up its 10th victory in a row as they came behind at the break to beat the Springboks comfortably by 17 points. South Africa were leading at the break and looked like they might win in the first indoor Union match ever. The match was played at the new Colonial Stadium in Melbourne. Australia came back after the break and came from behind to beat the Springboks easily in the end. The score line didn't tell how close the match really was.

Australia meet the All Blacks next week which will be a good match.

Brumbies cement spot but more injuries

(1/5/2000)

The ACT Brumbies have cemented their spot in the Super 12 semi-finals but there are more injuries to key players. Owen Finegan joined the Brumbies injury list and will be out of the Super 12 competition. Other players have minor injuries which will keep them out for a week but the only thing that could stop the Brumbies from winning the finals is their injury list.

Injury List may hurt Brumbies

(20/3/00)

After Saturdays loss to NSW, the Brumbies injury list did not look good. Injuries to David Giffin and Justin Harrison will keep them both out between 4 to 6 weeks. If they are kept out for 6 weeks then they will miss just about all of the Super 12 season.

That is not the only injury problem facing the Brumbies. Steven Larkham has bumps and bruises that will keep the physio busy for up to three weeks while Rod Kafer will miss training because of a corked thigh.

The Brumbies lost top spot to the Crusaders who defeated the Sharks 32-24. Despite all of this, the Brumbies must regroup.
