Jazz&Justice is:

An innovative series of five jazz concerts that will celebrate the work of six worthy organizations. The concerts will be presented between October 25, 2003, and March 20, 2004. Each evening will showcase exciting jazz groups that are based in Montreal, but who are also making waves far beyond our city. The concert hall is in the newly-built Unitarian Church of Montreal (UCM), located at 5035 De Maisonneuve W. Designed for good acoustics and viewer proximity to the stage, the hall is graced by the renovated 1909 LaLiberté Steinway grand piano. This venerable instrument will be given over to the creation of spontaneous jazz.

This site has more info and links about the organizations participating in the series. Members, friends and supporters of these groups will attend to celebrate the ever-widening network of people who have decided to work together to make a difference in ndg, greater Montreal, and in the developing world. The proceeds from each concert will be shared between the UCM and the featured organization of the evening.

Catch the earliest concert in the series that you are able to, because you may well want to return for more of the most special jazz concerts in town. Please see "Contact and ticket information" for suggested donation rates and discounts when buying for 3 or more concerts. Concerts start at 8:00 p.m.
