MESSAGE FROM THE OUTGOING PRESIDENT
by Christopher John Velasco

GOOD MORNIIINGGGGG!!!!!! I guess if you are a bonafide member of pops you would immediately recognize this call-sign, even if day in day out, when you hear someone shout "good morning!!!" you will immediately say "ah, mag-aanounce ang presidente namin" or simply "tinatawag ang attention namin". But do we ever stop to wonder na..."teka, bakit ba good morning eh gabi na nga eh". I cannot deny that even for myself, I did think of the idea too, why good morning? What is the reason behind this tradition?

During our officers training in Pagsanjan-2001, one of the alumni of pops who pioneered the said call-sign explained to us the reason behind this. The idea was: "When people greet us good morning, we feel that it will be a great day ahead of us, opportunities to be grabbed, new experiences, and new learning to discover. Saying good afternoon tells us that we are in the middle of the day and good night entails the end of it; saying good morning reminds us that everything we do is always a beginning."

So what message do I want to extend? We have been used to waking up, doing the same things every now and then and ending the day over and over again, sounds like a time bomb just waiting for our death. Why won't we think that for every second that passes us by is a beginning, a chance to create something new, an opportunity to learn and experience new things, that every day is different! So whenever we hear the words "good morning", it is a chance to carve our lives the way we want it to be, be a catalyst of change, and not be a slave of the clock and wait for the moment that our time to live is almost up, we have only one life, make the most out of it! To all the members of the DLSU Pops Orchestra I wish to greet you GOOOOD MOOOOORNIIIIING!!!!

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
by JL Mendoza

Good Morning! Just want to welcome all of you to another year of great music and fun. The past year as the Section Head of the Strings Section was a very memorable and fruitful year for me. It taught me how to lead and at the same time deal with people. People I work with and also play good music with. This helped me a lot since I got to know each and everyone of the members of this organization. Maybe this is the reason why I am here writing this message for all of you to read. Ichallenge everyone to be an active part of this organization. You can do this by just simply staying in the bandroom while at your break, mingling and sharing your little stories to everyone. I know that I am missing a lot of these stories while I am at the office for OJT but if you promise to tell them to everyone, I'm sure that it will also be relayed to me. My point is, I just want all of you to have fun. Of course, don't forget music since that is our main reason for joining this prestigious organization. Practice! Practice! Practice! I will also do my part in attending the night practices that we will be having together. With your support, this year will be another year of success!
