My petals droop in summer's breeze,
My color fades before winter's freeze.

My fragrance has lost its heavenly scent,
My branches are gnarled and wryly bent.

My thorns are dull, no longer a threat,
My leaves withered, yet I've no regret.

Nothing in life have I taken for granted.
I simply bloomed where I was planted.

~ DESERT BEAUTY ~
A Godly creation, this desert land,
Hot sizzling sun and searing sand.
Painted with ease in a mocha hue;
Saved by grace with a sky of blue.
Unrelenting wind with swift paces,
Blasting its way over open spaces.
Scared jackrabbits, sleek and fleet,
Take refuge by a scrubby mesquite.
Barren scenery that never changes,
That is the beauty of desert ranges.

Thorns come with the rose.
In cyberspace it's the same,
Thorns by a different name.
