She
She sits there,
a model of all that's beautiful
in this world;
yet, her skin--
saturated with a beauty
unknown to mortals,
the beauty only
heaven could possess.
She looks my way
for a moment,
and I see her eyes--
like glimmering pools
of love and happiness,
warm ripples of innocence, tenderness,
passion and understanding.
She smiles at me
as if she's seen heaven
and tasted of its celestial glory,
for there is something in that smile
that fills my heart with peace.
She speaks to me so softly,
my name drifting across
her precious lips,
and every hair on my body
stands on end,
tingling my skin with pure joy.
She turns and leaves.
I watch her as she glides along,
her feet brushing the ground like a feather;
hardly walking.
Thoughts of her glorious presence
circulate through my blood,
penetrating every inch of my soul,
making me a better man
for having met such an angel.
