Life is transition. No one stays the same, except for God!
As children, we can not wait to grow up and assume more and more responsibility; for ourselves; for our family; for those we call our true friends. We learn daily at the rate which we aspire and grow into. Some learn slowly, with may pitfalls and setbacks along the way. Others are blessed to be "fast learners". Those are not necessarily the smartest, or the cleverist, or those that learn quickest. These are the ones that have nurturing caring people who take time with them to explain things and who love them.
Sometimes we have to push "little birdies" out of the nest. Some of these hatchlings jump out of the nest. Some of those we are able to keep a watchful eye on, from a distance, and protect openly, or covertly, with a net of safety. Others hit the ground running and are either too fast, or catch the caregivers by suprise with cunning and deceit. As the children grow into "worldly" people, we sometimes have the fotune to stay in their lives, because as we grow we learn, all the way into our senior years. We can always learn both good and bad things.
I have learned that we sometimes have a single chance to help "save" some people. We in ourselves cannot save anyone. God saves. Jesus saves. And we know that we are saved when we receive the Holy Spirit! We (earthbound souls) cannot save. We can guide. We can confide. And we can watch over those we love with diligence. BUT we cannot save.
And so let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. (Galatians 6:9)
