After the disappointment with the Encore Bruticus reissue due to no die cast metal, poor quality, and tempographs, I went to Ebay and looked for the original Bruticus.  I got tired of waiting and still no decent original Bruticus, I ended up grabbing the original die cast metal Protectobots/ Defensor instead.  Back in the 80's, I used to have Streetwise and First Aid until I lost it.  It just vanished one day along with my other Transformers.   Now, I'm just excited by having the Protectobots/ Defensor again.  It cost me a fortune, $CCXXX, from Ebay and arrived to me on Aug. Xv, Mmix.

Hates seeing any machine in pain - even those who don't know it, like a broken street lamp or an overheated car. Compassionate, cautious - will restrict an Autobot to repair bay for faulty directional signal. Carries dual-barrelled decrystallizer cannon - weakens metal by disrupting crystalline structure - and photon pistol. Fists shoot laser beams used for welding in surgery. With fellow Protectobots, combines to form "Defensor".

R-1 First Aid in its Original condition:

R-2 Pre-Applied Decals/ Stickers: 

There are 4 Pre-Applied stickers that had been applied onto First Aid.  The first two are the blue stickers for the rear window shield while the front and side windows are painted.  Sticker number 3 is an Autobot insignia located at the top of the ambulance by the rear.  Lastly, the final pre-applied sticker is the Autobot Rub Sign logo located behind the red siren.

There are 5 registered numbering of stickers on the sticker sheet.  But in reality it's actually 11 stickers since some of the decals/ stickers are grouped or paired together and labeled it as one.  These numberings do not include the Pre-applied stickers.  

R-3 First Aid in Vehicle Mode:

In vehicle mode, First Aid is a Toyota Hiace ambulance whose measurement is approximately 2 14/16 x 1 1/4 x 1 1/2 (LxWxH in inch).  Unfortunately for First Aid due to the style of his transformation, a huge chunk of the ambulance rear panel was cut out in order to make the robot mode work properly.  That is a big price to pay because now the vehicle mode looks awful from the rear.  First Aid primary colors are red, white, and blue.  He features die cast metal and the rests are  all plastic and this include the wheels as well.  Surprisingly, the  2 rear windows by the feet of the ambulance are stickers while the rest of the windows are painted.  Also, the front bumper has a silver paint.  From the back, there is a hole reserved for the dual barrelled decrystallizer, see R-5.  

R-4 First Aid in Robot Mode:

Of the smaller Protectobots, First Aid and Blades have the best robot form in term of appearance and design.  His transformation is also simple just like the rest of the smaller Protectobots.  Starting from vehicle mode, pull the ambulance apart in the opposite direction from another at the middle until you hear a click.  This will allow First Aid thigh or leg to extend out by 1/8" which make him slightly taller in height.   Next, flip the rear of the ambulance to become the leg.  Pull the front hood all the way to the back, now, slide both arms out from the body.  And that's pretty much complete his transformation.

R-5 First Aid in Battle Mode:

To make First Aid into an attack ambulance, insert the dual barrelled decrystallizer cannon into the hole at the back of the ambulance.  First Aid decrystallizer can be rotated at a 360 degree sideway and unlike Streetwise cannon it cannot do a full 90 degree turn for the left and right side of the ambulance due to the short cannon post or connector. This cannon attaches to the rear of the vehicle style can also be seen in Streetwise, all of the Stuncticons' limps: Breakdown, Dead End, Drag Strip, Wildrider, and the Combaticons limp's Brawl.  Somehow, it looks great on Streetwise than any of the bots mentioned.   Both First Aid and Streetwise weapons are very similar and can get easily confuse.  Streetwise double cannon is much fatter, has double vertical fins, and with a taller gun post/ connector.  First Aid on the other hand, has a short gun post/ connector, smaller, and no fins.  The double cannon of Streetwise will fit into First Aid but not vice versa.  The reason is that the gun post of First Aid is short which interferes with Streetwise red siren.  As for the pistol, if you look near the barrel, you'll notice Streetwise gun barrel has a flap facing downward toward the floor while First Aid gun flap is facing up toward the sky.  In addition, First Aid gun handle has to be hold from the side while Streetwise gun handle holds normally.

R-6 Die Cast Metal or Plastic Version?

First Aid was released as a die cast version first and later the all plastic version.  The metal version has die cast on the red chest while the later version has plastic chest.  I am not 100% sure whether the plastic version was only made in Macau or not.

Stability: [-A] - Robot mode can stand on any flat surface...very stable.

Fun Toy: [A] - Definitely fun due to many accessories and part of the combiner team.

Negative Drawback - None. 

Articulations:  Head: Cannot be rotated. Shoulder:  Can only be swung at a 360 degree.  Arm/ Elbow: Cannot be bent.  Wrist/ Hand: Cannot be rotated.  Hand cannot be hidden.  Hip/ Waist: Cannot be rotated.  Leg: Cannot be bent  Knee: Can be bent at 180 degree.  Ankle/Feet: No movement.

Rub Sign Logo: [Yes] - The Autobot's rub sign is located behind the red siren.

Robot's Cartoon looks alike: [A]  - Look pretty much like the cartoon. 

Vehicle's Cartoon looks alike: [A] - Same as previous comment.

Special Notes: Here is 1 special note which I think you should know:

1 - During transformation, don't forget to pull the rear leg out first before folding the leg out.  Doing so, will prevent it from scratching the paint and plastic.  Secondly, you made him roughly 1/8" taller by adding the length to the thigh.  

Overall Grade: [A] - Just like Blades, First Aid also looks good in either mode.  And with the capability to form Defensor, this made him even more valuable.
