I was writing in my room when I saw an unlikely creature.....

A rattlesnake

It blended with the sand and the its tongue and eyes when as dark as night

I stared at it and the snake stared back at me

I thought, "It's a snake." And it thought, "It's a girl"

We stared on until my dad's girlfriend came in and screamed.

I looked up and saw her pale with terror.

My dad and our neighbor got my snake out later that night

I felt sad
