Loyal Men

The deadline was coming in three days. That day Noiz would decide to stay at Animal House or not. She could either go back to Lotus House or stay with the boys for another semester. The animals began secretly plotting.

"The deadline's coming up!" Billy stated.

    "Yeah, I know," Conrad replied.

"She can't leave us to the pig!" Callum said. "We'll go back to ruin if she does!"

"So, what do we do?" Graham asked. The boys all thought about that for a moment. Then, an idea came to Kyle.

"Well, it's her choice to stay or not, yeah?" he asked.

"Yeah," Billy replied. Kyle sat up smiling.

"So," he went on. "If we make everything so good here...." the boys figured it all out in seconds.

"She'll want to stay!" Conrad finished.

"Yeah!" the animals all agreed. Thus, the birth of Operation: Kitty. However, Noiz and Rob had their own mission on their hands. The kitty was at her laptop once again.

"So," Rob spoke up to her. "What are you doing today?"

"Working," Noiz answered without looking up. Rob sighed to himself. "Figures!" he thought. "She always says that!"

"Because I have to!" his cat replied. "*Twinge* I forgot that she can hear thoughts!" Rob thought. Noiz said nothing and smirked to herself as she typed.

"Anyway," Rob went on. "There's been a thief around the house lately."

    "Really now?" the kitty asked.

"Yeah," the mouse went on. "Many things have been missing over the past couple of days." Noiz kind of smiled to herself.

"Everyone's probably misplacing stuff here," she suggested.

"Not Ian Armstrong," Rob corrected. "He never misplaces anything and he's lost his trading cards, golden chain, cell phone, and IPod." Noiz smirked to herself again. She looked up at her pet.

"Puh-leeze!" she called. "Ever since Ian got with Graham, all of that hot gay sex turned his mind into mush and he had become forgetful. He doesn't even know what day it is!"

"Still," Rob spoke up. "It is possible."

"Yeah, whatever!" Noiz replied. Rob just shrugged and went off to class. But then, he was stopped by the door busting open. The pair looked up right away. Ian stood in the doorway panting. He seemed to have hiked up many stairs to see them. The mouse looked at him slightly lost.

"Ian?" Rob asked. "What's the matter?" Ian held up his hand to catch his breath fully. Once he finished, he spewed out his problem.

"My hospital bracelet!" he cried. "It's been stolen!" Rob looked startled.

"But," he said. "You wear that thing on your wrist every day! How did it get nixed?" Ian shrugged.

"I don't know!" he said. "I woke up this morning with Graham and it was gone!" He trembled all over. "I need that bracelet!" the boy called. "I'll die without it!" He broke down panicking. Rob held him close to him. Ian trembled against him in worry.

"It's okay," Rob spoke up. "We'll help you find it!" Noiz looked at him oddly. Ian looked at him happily. He hugged the mouse tightly.

"Oh thank you, Rob! Thank you!" he cried. Ian looked over at Noiz. "Noiz," he said. "I'll make set you get all of the best seats in the movies and everything else!" Then, he hurried back to his dorm. The mouse turned to his kitty.

"Well, you heard the man," he replied. "Let's get to work!" Noiz sighed and rolled her eyes. She closed her worked, shut off her laptop, and closed it.

"Fine, fine," she mumbled under her breath. "Won't take long anyway!" Then, they headed out of the dorm to help look. They split up to look for Ian's missing things. Noiz walked around looking. Conrad spotted her right away. He hurried over to her.

"Noiz-san!" he called. "Just the person I was looking for!" Noiz raised an eyebrow at him.

"What exactly do you want?" she asked him. Conrad put his arm around her lightly.

"Just..." he began. "Let me know if you want me to help you with anything!" The cat thought about that for a second. She came up with a great idea.

"Yes," the cat replied. "There is something you can help we with!" Conrad's eyes lit up brightly.

"Ooo!" he called. "What is it?" The cat turned him smiling.

"Help me find Ian's bracelet!," she replied. Conrad stood up straight and tall.

"Yes madam!" he called. Then, he began looking around for the bracelet. Noiz looked at him oddly as he did so. "Strange..." she thought. Then, the cat went back to looking. By lunch, most of the animals were looking for Ian's bracelet. They all turned up nothing. Suddenly, Noiz came up with a hunch. She leaned in close to her pet.

"I think we need to follow Ian around in secret," the kitty suggested. Rob looked at her confused.

    "What? Why?" he asked.

"Cause," his kitty replied. "He's now a suspect!" Rob looked at her shocked.

"You can't mean that!" he yelled. Noiz gave him a little shrug.

"Sorry," she replied. "But he's all we got at the moment. Now, I'm not saying he's doing this on purpose. It might be absent-mindedness. We won't know until we see. Okay?" Rob reluctantly surrendered.

"Fine!" he declared. "We'll follow him. But I know he's innocent." Noiz smiled at him happily. She kissed him on the cheek.

"That's cutie!" the boss replied. Rob sighed to himself. Why did he let her talk him into this? Ian's route began from Graham's dorm to class, science class, student bar, and finally the convince store. So far, all green. Rob found himself pretty bored. Noiz looked on determined. Something had to get.

"This is bored!" the mouse complained. "Can we go now?"

"Shhh!" Noiz whispered to him. "Just watch him." Finally, something gave. Ian's behavior kept Noiz's attention in seconds. She noticed him looking at items for a brief second, putting them back, and putting them in his basket without looking. Noiz found it quite odd. She tapped her mouse on the shoulder. Rob looked up quickly.

"What is it now?" he asked.

"Look!" Noiz whispered. The pair watched closely. Ian began heading out of the store without paying. This wasn't good at all. He had to be stopped right away.

"I'll handle this!" he called. Then, he hurried over to the thin blonde-haired boy.

"Robbie-kun!" the kitty screamed. "Wait!" But it was too late. Rob made it half way to Ian before a security guard lightly grabbed him on the shoulder. It all went down from there. Everyone ended up at the police station. Ian was pleading guilty for shoplifting unwittingly. The mouse tried to take the blame for his pal's crimes. Noiz tried to say that they were both insane and the whole thing was a little accident. The whole thing changed into a soap opera when Shannon and Perry got added into the mix when they were called to help out Rob. Well, Perry tried to help him. Shannon saw this as an opportunity to get her former sensei out of her life for good. She tried to get the mouse life in prison. The rest of the animals trying to keep Noizchild in their house tried to claim all three were innocent. The only true person to feel sympathy for turned out to the be the police man. He looked as if he would scream from a throbbing headache from all the talking. All charges were dropped in the end and everyone was free to go. The fate of Ian's things? The boy had been putting absent-mindedly putting them in Noiz's laptop bag because it looked almost like his. Plus he had been forgetting his own dorm room. They all looked the same in the dark. The kitty found his items when she was packing up to play with Rob for the night. The pair returned them back to the boy. One less case to worry about now.
