Oh Honesty

Today, Rob had a new idea. Honesty in the world was dead. So, rob decided that he was just going to be straight out honest and tell nothing but the truth from now on. That's always a fun thing to know! Noiz was the first to hear about this bold concept. The catgirl of course found herself split down the middle about this. In fact, she turned all the way around from her computer.

"Rob, sweetie," the cat spoke up. "What are you talking about?" The mouse smiled at her in pride.

"Nobody really tells the truth anymore!" he called. "So from now on, I will be nothing but honest to everyone around me." Noiz still looked at him like was out of his mind. She slowly stood up from her desk.

"But Robbie-kun," she spoke up. "I tell the truth!"

"When you profit from it," Rob corrected. "All women lie. It's in their nature."

"And what about men?" his lover challenged.

"Yeah," he agreed. "But you women do it more."

"But what about me?" Noiz asked. Rob gently kissed her on the tip of the nose.

"You are beautiful, really sweet, smart, I love you, and I love to make love to you every night and then some," he replied. "But you are the most spoiled, stubborn, insane, self-centered, ego-maniac that I have ever met. I would hate you but your looks, insanity, talent, and brains have me hooked to you." Noiz looked at him with big eyes. She couldn't speak at all! Rob kissed her on the lips again. Then, he let go of her face and walked away to class. Noiz just stood there in utter shock. She could not believe that he just said that to her face. It felt like a slap in the face to her.

"You... You..." she stammered out. "You jerk!" Uh oh! Somebody hit a sensitive area with her! That must have hurt! But, that was only the beginning. By lunch, everyone seemed hurt or pissed off at Rob's new way of talking to people. He told Dodge that he was just pathetic hot-headed control freak who does really have what it takes to actually beat up a real man and takes his frustration out on his poor girlfriend, Luz. Rob boldly said that the cook's steak could double as a bullet-proof vest. He told June that there was no way in hell that Artemis would ever love her and that he only ever loved swallow beauty queens. The mouse even went as far as to spill out all of the dirt and bitterness on Artemis. Noiz just tuned out her pet for most of the day. Why? The cat had other things on her mind to worry about at the moment. Her former student, Naomi, was coming to visit Noizchild again. This time, she had some great news for her. They had arranged to meet in the dining hall. Rob and Noiz sat at their usual table waiting. The cat glared over at her mouse coldly. Rob looked at her innocently

"What?" he said with a shrug. The cat lowered her chopsticks.

"Naomi is coming with her boyfriend," she told him. "I know you're on a truth kick and all, but please keep your mouth shut! Got me?" Rob shrugged and saluted at her.

"I can't grantee that, my lady!" he called. Noiz glared at him again.

"Well try to, damn it!" she snapped. "I've already had too many complaints about you today! I don't need anymore whining!" Rob just gave her a goofy little grin.

"I can't promise you anything!" he replied. Noiz sighed and rolled her eyes. Oi him! She just didn't know what to do with that mouse at times. She heard the door open wide. The cat quickly lifted her head.

"That's them!" Noiz said quickly. Rob looked up and saw Naomi with a tall gentleman dressed in a nice dress suit. He was pure Japanese and looked pretty rich. Rob smirked at the man.

    "He's sharp-looking," he replied.

"Yeah," Noiz replied. She reached up her arm and flagged the young couple down. Naomi spotted them right away. She hurried over to the duo. The man followed with her. Noiz and Rob waited patiently. Naomi and her boyfriend made it over to the cat and mouse.

"Noiz-san!" she cried out happily. "It's so good to see you again!" She tried to hug Noiz, but the cat stopped her right away.

"Don't touch me!" she said sharply as she held up her hand to Naomi. Her former student backed off some. The man looked at the sensei confused. Her mouse smiled at him kindly.

"Oh don't worry about her," he replied. "She never really wants anybody to touch her. She may be a nice woman, but she can by a vicious little attack cat if you piss her off." Noiz glared at her and kicked him under the table.

    "Ow!" Rob mumbled to her.

"You're skating really close, buddy!" she hissed at him. The mouse looked at her in pain. Then, they turned back to their guests. The younger couple looked at them slightly worried.

"Uh..." Naomi spoke up. "Is there something wrong?" Noiz looked up at her harmlessly.

"Nothing," she replied. "It's just that Rob here decided to take leave of his senses and start telling the truth all of the time!" The mouse looked at her innocently.

"And what's wrong with that?" he challenged. "Honesty is dead. I'm just here to bring it back to life." Noiz snorted at that one.

"Yeah, but you are just too open about everything!" she whined aloud. "That's the problem!"

"But I have to be!" Rob called out. "That's all part of being honest!" Then, they heard someone clear their throat at them. The pair looked up to see Naomi and her boyfriend still staring at them.

"Uh..." Naomi spoke up. "Is this a bad time?"

"No!" Noiz spoke up quickly. "Just sit down. It would be pointless for you to leave when you just got here." The couple sat down uneasily. Rob looked at Naomi's boyfriend.

"Whose the boy?" he asked her. Naomi smiled at Rob cheerfully.

"That's what I want to talk to you about!" she called. Naomi held out her left hand. Noiz and Rob looked on in surprise. A big pricey rock sat on her ring finger. The diamond was real and completely full. It even sat on pure platinum as well. Noiz looked at her excited.

"You're getting married?" she asked in surprise.

"Yes!" Naomi called. She turned to her finacee. "This is Daichi Arai! I met him last year."

"Oh how nice!" Noiz said trying to be nice. Rob kept his mouth shut. (Wise thing to do on that part.) He just listened to the three of them talk to each other. Daichi seemed like a nice bloke. But yet, something seemed pretty off about that guy... Like a wolf in sheep's clothing. Maybe he could investigate him some more later. But that would have to wait for a while. June came into the dining room dressed up in her fancy golden ball gown with a big pink flower in her hair. Her make-up had been done up in the best way that she could. The boys all laughed at her. Noiz figured out why.

"See Rob?" she asked him. "This is what your truths have done to people!" Rob shrugged at her.

"Hey," he replied. "The truth hurts sometimes, I guess." Noiz rolled her eyes again. There was just no hope with this guy! June came out to the front.

"Good afternoon everyone!" she greeted the animals. Some of them giggled at her. June tried her best not to cry. "How is everyone?" she asked. No one really spoke up. There were some more giggles though.

"Half-dead here!" Rob shouted at her. "Plus you look like you got lost in your closet this morning and was trying to get out." Noiz jabbed him in the ribs with her elbow.

    "Ow!" he whispered to her.

"That's enough out of you!" she hissed. Rob looked at her innocently. Noiz rolled her eyes at him. "I'll deal with you later!" she hissed again. June clapped her hands together nervously.

"Right!" she said. "Good to know! Enjoy your lunches!" Everyone did so in silence. Then, the doors opened again. Everyone looked up again. This time, Artemis stood in the doorway. Everyone rolled their eyes and continued on with what they were doing. The pig grinned at them still.

"Hello everyone!" he greeted them. A waved of mumbles waved through the room. He looked around with that cheesy grin of his. "And how are all of you today?" the pig tried again. More groans all around. Artemis grinned not caring. "Super! Super!" he called. Then, Artemis looked up and saw June looking at him overjoyed. The pig tried his best not to laugh.

"June," he spoke up. "What the hell is that ridicule outfit you have on? It's not Halloween yet!" His assistant hurried over to him. She smiled at him the best way that she could.

"I like helping people, caring for animals, I want to feed all of the children in the world!" the girl said aloud. Artemis looked at her as if she was out of her mind.

"What the hell are you talking about, June?" he asked her. The girl straightened up quickly.

"Well, I heard that you liked beauty queens," she said in a soft voice. "So, I'm a beauty queen." A moment of silence came and went between them for a moment. Then, Artemis burst out laughing. June looked at him confused.

"What's so funny?" she asked him. Artemis stopped laughing and turned back to her.

"You are so funny!" he called out. "You as a beauty queen? The house could use more humor like that around here!" Then, the pig walked away laughing his head off. June stood there breaking down into tears. Noiz tried her best not to laugh out loud as well. Maybe this completely honest thing could provide entertainment at times.

"So," Noiz said to Rob as she typed on her laptop later that evening. "What was it like to be completely honest?"

"Tiring," he replied. "Honesty sucks sometimes. No, it's better to lie and get on with life." Noiz smiled to herself as she looked at the screen. She turned around to her pet mouse.

"I'll salute to that!" she said aloud.

"Salute!" Rob replied. They both saluted to each other. The kitty left her laptop, came over to her lover, and sat down next to him on the bed.

"So what do you think about Daichi?" Rob asked her. Noiz thought about that for a moment and shrugged.

"Hard to say," she replied. "I have a bad feeling about him, but he seems so perfect. Too perfect. I just want Naomi to be happy and off of my back. But my instinct is never wrong. So, I don't know."

"I can do a background check on him if you like," Rob said to her. Noiz smiled at him boldly.

"I'd love that!" she said. The mouse smiled at her and kissed her on the lips. Noiz lightly moved over to his ear.

"I'm still going to get you for the spoiled thing, you know that?" she whispered to him.

    "I know," Rob whispered back.

"Just making sure," the kitty whispered back. Then, they parted from each other. Noiz went back to work on her laptop. Honesty is a funny thing sometimes.

Oh Honesty is Such a Cruel Thing
