Job Hours

Noiz looked at her finances online out of boredom one day. A disturbing surprise hit her right in the face. She had no fun money. Most of her money went into the school. Sure, she had enough money for food, clothes on her back, and other things she needed. But that was just it. All of the money for went to the school and things she needed. But never for anything fun. Something had to be done. "Oh, this is not good!" Noiz thought. Then, she heard the door close behind her. She didn't have to turn around to see who it was.

    "Hey Robbie-kun," she said.

"Hi," he replied. That reminded Noiz of something. She turned around to her mouse again.

    "Hey Rob," she spoke up.

"Hm?" the mouse asked as he started taking off his sneakers.

"Check your finances real quick for me," Noiz told him. The mouse paused and looked up at her.

"Why, is there a problem?" he asked.

"Yes!" Noiz said rushed. "Now just hurry up and look, would ya?"

"Okay, okay," Rob replied. "I'll check it!" He pulled out his Orion 2016 and turned it on. Noiz watched as he went online to do as she said. Rob looked at his finances closely. He shook his head some.

"I don't see it," he replied. "What's the problem?" Noiz sighed aloud.

"We have no money to spend for ourselves!" she cried out. Rob looked at her some on that one.

"So?" he asked. Noiz hit her head in stress.

"So?!?" Noiz asked aloud. "So?!? So, we have no fun money to spend on ourselves! The school and our needs eats it up right before we can put it in pockets! And that is a bad thing!" Rob thought about that for a moment.

"Good point," he replied. "So how do we fix it?" Noiz held up one finger.

"Ah!" she said aloud. "I've got the solution!" Rob looked at her slightly worried. He always feared his girl's plans at first. This one would no different from the rest.

"Okay, what are you cooking up now?" the mouse asked her in suspicion. Noiz turned to him grinning.

"We get jobs!" she said with mighty thunder in her voice. The mouse looked at her slightly confused.

"But we've already got jobs!" he said quickly.

"Then, we'll pick up extra jobs!" Noiz amended her statement. Rob still stared at her and her crazy plot.

"But you're too lazy to work other jobs!" the mouse pointed out. Noiz smiled at him still.

"Don't analyze it to death!" she replied. "Are you in or no?" Rob sighed in defeat. What would be the point of fighting her? She's just going to keep on pushing until she gets her way anyway.

"Fine!" Rob called. "I'm in!" Noiz quickly became overjoyed.

"Oh thanks Robbie-kun!" she cried out. She hugged and kissed him wildly. "You won't regret this!" she whispered loudly to him. "I already do!" the mouse thought. He sighed again. Here goes another crazy scheme of his beloved. Turns out, finding jobs is easier said than done. Four days later, the pair turned up nothing. Noiz and Rob sat on their stressed.

"Found anything yet?" Noiz asked him.

"Nope," Rob replied. "You?" Noiz gave him a kind of snort-laugh.

"Ha!" she said out loud. "No one and campus wants to hire you if you are on the staff!" Both sighed out loud.

    "Now what?" Noiz asked aloud.

"We quit now?" Rob questioned. The kitty looked at him as if he had just lost his mind.

"No!" she said sharply. "We don't quit! We go outside of the campus for work!" Rob looked at her with big eyes.

"You *can't* be serious!" he said.

"No choice," Noiz replied. "We need the money." Rob sighed out loud again. No point in arguing with her. She just won't listen. The outside didn't do any good either. Neither one had any luck at all. Noiz went to a clothing boutique for a job. She spotted their help wanted ad in the window. At last, luck after three days of nothing! "This'll work!" the kitty thought. Noiz walked right into the store. Inside, the young teenage girl clerk looked up bored. Noiz smiled at her brightly. The clerk rolled her eyes at her.

"Can I help you?" she asked in an irritated voice. Noiz looked at her smiling still.

"I came here to get a job," she said. Silence passed between them for a moment. The clerk looked Noiz up and down for a moment. Then, she laughed out loud. The cat raised an eyebrow at her.

"Is... something funny?" she asked. The clerk looked at her again. Today, Noiz had on jeans and a t-shirt. So, she looked younger than her actual age. Eleven or twelve to be exact. The clerk smirked at her again.

"You?" she asked aloud. "You actually want to work here?"

"Well, yeah!" Noiz said back to her like it was obvious. "I have great leadership skills, I am very good with my hands, and I can work well with people." The clerk tried not to laugh again.

"But you're just a kid!" she called out. Noiz became pissed off.

"A kid?!?" she cried out. "A kid?!? How old do you think I am?!?"

"Eleven. Twelve maybe," the clerk replied. Noiz grew even angrier.

"ELEVEN?!?" she screamed out. "I am twenty-five years old!!!!" More silence passed. The clerk burst out laughing again.

"Oh, how funny!" she said. The stupid girl began looking all around her. "Am I on a prank show?!?" she called out loud. "Come on! Where are the cameras? I know they're here somewhere. Come out and show yourselves!" Noiz rolled her eyes pissed off and walked out of the store.

Rob didn't have any luck either. Not many jobs held his interest. The ones that did rejected him because of lack of experience. He was about to call it quits for today. That's when the answer came along. A new dojo had opened up and looking for teachers. Rob began to smile some. "Jackpot!" he thought. The mouse hurried over to the new dojo. He knocked on the sliding door. A big tall old man slid it open a crack.

"What do you want?" he hissed in a low voice. Rob stood on firmly.

"I came here for a job!" he said out loud. The big man looked at him confused for a moment. Then, his face changed.

"You're not with the cops, are you?" he asked. The mouse looked on lost at that one.

"No..." he replied. The man looked at him sharply. Rob felt uneasy about this all of a sudden. His better judgment told him to get the Hell out of there right away. But, the mouse "needed the money."

"Yes, I am sure," he replied. The big man thought about that for a moment.

"And you want a job here?" he asked. Rob hesitated at first. Then, he shook his head.

"On second thought," the mouse spoke up. "I'll look somewhere else. Good day, sir!" The mouse bowed and quickly hurried away. Just in time too! The police rushed up to the "dojo" and arrested the big man on drug charges. So, cat and mouse didn't get jobs. No fun money for them! Oh well! Tomorrow's another day, right? Right...
