WELCOME To the Home of "Project EDAN"

This site was developed for The Forensic Artists of "Project EDAN". The Artists donate their work to make facial reconstructions for Law Enforcement Agencies that do not have access to, or funding for a qualified Forensic Artist.

Forensic Artist Membership

We are now currently accepting only certified forensic artists as volunteers for
Project EDAN.

Internships for those studying forensic art is also a possibility.

Please contact us for further information.

Project Edan

Forensic Artists

Currently the Group has 23 experienced, certified Forensic Artists who volunteer. They have all dedicated time, money and energy to helping Law Enforcement Agencies with Facial Reconstructions of unidentified persons. Their work provides the foundation for the existence of Project EDAN.

Project EDAN policy and procedure dictates that if at any point a Project EDAN forensic professional discovers evidence that may alter the course of an investigation of a case for which he or she has been directly involved, that information will be reported directly to the law enforcement agency in charge of the investigation.

The Outpost For Hope

Project EDAN" was formed in conjunction with and is proudly co-sponsored by "The Outpost For Hope". Outpost for Hope is the “missing link” between under-represented missing persons and those who seek to find them. This often over-looked missing persons population can include but is not limited to: endangered runaways, homeless persons, lost mentally ill persons, substance addicted and other high-risk missing persons.

NCIC Statistics

Current as of the August 31, 2009 indexing
According to the FBI-NCIC

There are:
98,058
Missing Persons listed in their system -- (children and adult.)

There are
7,240
Unidentified Persons listed their system -- (children and adult.)

Often UID (unidentified remains) reports are only recorded at state and local level. We know that the actual number of UID's are somewhere between
40,000 - 60,000.

Tradionally, NCIC is an LE database -- coroners and medical examiners don't always have an opportunity to enter their UID into NCIC.

Coroner's and ME's can now directly enter their UID cases into www.NamUs.gov - Efforts can then be taken to share information with officials, organizations and citizens across the globe.
