See What We Are Talking About On The Message Board

We are a Renaissance acting troupe based in Northern California. Our home is the shire of Willington at the Northern California Renaissance Faire  at Casa de Fruta in Hollister, weekends, between the dates of September 9 and October 15, 2006. For more details, click here to go to their website.

Why do we call ourselves the Guild of St Luke? St Luke was the patron saint of  artists; bachelors; bookbinders; brewers; butchers; doctors; glass makers; glassworkers; gold workers; goldsmiths; lace makers; lace workers; notaries; painters; physicians; sculptors; stained glass workers; surgeons. Many of these folks make up the "middle class" of Elizabethan England.
The members of Saint Luke's portray the Middle Class inhabitants of our Elizabethan village. Our characters range from the lower middle class to upper middle class. Among us are merchants, both well-to-do and not, craftsmen, the ostler (innkeeper), the goodwives and various townsfolk, both ordinary and extraordinary, of our shire. You will see us roaming the streets of the shire entertaining the visitors to our village by performing improv theatre, comedy and drama, country dance, and song.

We are currently accepting new members. To inquire about the guild, please email the Membership Director here.
