The Departure
I don't know what I need anymore
...But I know it isn't you
I'm not sure what to aim for
But it will be something true
I don't know what to hope for
Your love's no longer a goal
My heart beats for no one
All I feel is alone
And yet the temptation still runs thick
Like saliva from within your lips
Like tears and sweat
Beat together in a hard shower of rain
As I walk away
Like blood from the wound that you bleed in me
Like what it is: shame.
Well I hate the smell of blood
And you know it's in the air
And I loved the smell of you
But you're no longer here
And I never really wanted you
I never loved you at all
It was really just having someone to hold onto
Somebody around
Still I miss the illusion
Though I don't know what it was to you
You made me fall
Spiral into an addiction of fake meaning
And you won't miss me, I know
So this won't hurt as much as I'd like it to
When I say I have to go
In the end I always run away
But maybe that's just what makes it the end
Nevertheless, my legs aren't failing
Soon I'll be on my own again
Blood from a wound you never cared to heal
Blood from a wound, I no longer need you to heal
