New FG42 Type I Dummy Guns and parts.
The guns and parts sold on this website are replicas of the famous German WWII Fallschirmjagergewehr 42 (FG42). They are solid aluminum and cannot chamber or fire ammunition. The subassemblies (front and rear halves) cannot be disassembled. Once assembled and painted, the finshed dummy guns will look very real until closely examined.
In the past I was making all the FG42 components myself, one at a time, in my garage. The desire to produce the highest quality products forced me to work with a local pattern shop and foundry to develop precision molds. Because the molds are larger than the pouring capacity of my personal foundry, I have the castings produced commerically. What this means in the end is that the prices are nearly the same as before while the quality of my product has improved tremendously.
This photo is of the prototype casting right out of the sand. Note that both halves are cast simultaneously, meaning that the metal is identical from one part to the other.

03/03/07: News from the foundry: Bipod legs are here! I received the first castings yesterday and they are nice. Definitely a great way to help complete our dummy guns. Photos to follow shortly. Sorry, they 6 sets I picked up are already spoken for but I ordered more instantly when I saw them. See the product description below for more info.
Rear half : $150 Includes buttstock, receiver, trigger housing. This is the large rear section needed to start a dummy gun project. (4 available)
Front half : $50 Includes barrel front, gas block, front sight base, muzzle brake. (4 available)
Handguard : $75 These unfinished handguards are made from beautiful walnut. They are individually hand crafted by my grandfather. They are unfinished so you can complete the guns as you want, and also because we have not perfected the jigs to cut the cooling slots and grip cuts. The wood is sanded and ready to finish; we recommend a clear finish to let the walnut show through. (3 available)
Small parts set : $20 Includes cocking handle, selector knob, rear sight, front sight. This is the small parts set that completes the rifle. The parts will require finishing (filing, filling, cutting, drilling, etc) as I have to make them myself and they DO NOT come out perfect. The price reflects that. Not included are the pins needed to attach these, but anything can be used. (out of stock)
Solid magazine : $40 Magazines can be supplied full length or cut to attach to your dummy gun. That means I cut off the part that would normally go inside the mag well of the rifle. Because the mag well is solid aluminum, there is no way to "insert" a magazine. It would probably take someone a year to saw this off with a hacksaw, so I offer the service for free because I'm such a nice guy. Mags are of solid construction and require the same finish work as the small parts sets. (out of stock)

Update – 03/03/07 - Currently I do not have any completed guns for sale. As fast as I make components they are sold. I've slowly kept a few parts for myself when I had an extra, and as soon as I have some time I will finish my demonstrator. Stay tuned. There have been several guns completed by customers which turned out very, very nice.
