Joey began his racing career in 1992 in the 250cc micro sprint division. Purchasing a 1986 Stallard Chassis, this was definitely a learning experience. Having never raced or even having worked on a race car, there were many trying times learning how to maintain and drive a micro sprint.

Here are some career highlights:

	'92 - Began racing career
	'93 - 10th in points at Trail-Way Speedway
	'94 - 7th in points at Trail-Way Speedway
	'95 - 5th in points at Trail-Way Speedway
	'96 - 7th in points at Trail-Way Speedway, 3rd in points at Shippensburg Speedway, 1st career win at Shippensburg and "Ma" Trone wins the Powder Puff race at Shippensburg
	'97 - 3rd in points at Trail-Way Speedway, 2nd in points at Shippensburg Speedway, 2 wins (T/W and Shippensburg)
	'98 - 4th in points at Trail-Way Speedway, 3 wins (Shippensburg, Seaford (DE), Clinton County Speedway)
	'99 - 3rd in points at Trail-Way Speedway, 4 wins (T/W, Seaford and Seacoast (DE), Deerfield (OH))
	'00 - won Trail-Way Speedway points title, 1 win at T/W, and was top 10 at every points race during the '00 season; finished 6th place in ESR Series points, won 1 Kevin Gobrecht Dash for Cash at Greenwood Valley Action Track.
	'01 - 3 wins at T/W (3/30/01, 4/13/01 and 4/27/01)
