For Bangofly

Angel song
Meets the
Cry of the
Wolfpack

Under an
Arctic moon

Stealthily
They patrol
And watch
The cold heavens

Under an
Arctic moon

Protectors
From the enemy
They run their
Finely tuned drills

Under an
Arctic moon

With feline grace
The Wolfpack
Wanders
The world's edge

Under an
Arctic moon

Curious simplicity
Guides their
Complex ways
Bonded by loyalty

Under an
Arctic moon

Steadfast and true
Sure til the end
Showing their colors
So fine

Under an
Arctic moon

She waits
So far away
Listening, sighing
Awaiting the return from

Under an
Arctic moon

Dedicated to Bangofly and the rest of Wolfpack

U.S. Military Jet, Dead Pilot Found In Alaska

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (Reuters) - Searchers have found the body of a U.S. Marine Corps pilot whose fighter jet crashed in the Alaska Range during a training mission, the Alaskan Command said Friday.

The body of Maj. Timothy Curry, a native of Richmond, Virginia, was found late Thursday near the wreck of his F/A-18C Hornet jet on a ridge north of Mount Deborah in a remote, mountainous area south of Fairbanks, officials said.

The plane wreckage, which rescuers had spotted a few hours earlier, was at an elevation of about 6,800 feet (2,100 meters) and gusty winds and poor visibility had hampered the search, officials said.

He was flying out of Eielson Air Force Base near Fairbanks in formation with another F/A-18C Hornet jet when his aircraft disappeared. The other jet returned safely to Eielson.

Both pilots and their jets were assigned to Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni in Japan, the Alaskan Command said. They were in Alaska as part of annual joint-service U.S. military exercises known as Northern Edge.

The cause of the accident was unknown Friday, said Lt. Col. Jerry Brown of the Alaskan Command, which is headquartered at Anchorage's Elmendorf Air Force Base.
A Marine investigative board was scheduled to come to Alaska to examine the crash site and the evidence, Brown said.
