See Rich at work

UPDATE- (June 2003)- I haven't had a lot of time to update this lately, and no money to put out the print version in a while.  I'm going to school full time, I have about two more years before I get a degree.  I was originally planning to do Journalism, but after taking courses in newswriting, I decided it's just not my thing.  I prefer to write fiction or editorial pieces.  So now I'm looking into doing public relations.  My little brother claims I'm selling out by choosing a profession based on deception, but I think if you choose a good place to work, there will be no deception involved.

Rich is still working for the same place, we're hoping to move elsewhere though. This area just doesn't have potential to make a decent living.  We're not materialistic and certainly don't need a mansion with fancy cars, but it would be nice to be able to afford a movie every once in a while.  Besides, he hates PA.

I'm going to be updating articles and whatnot throughout the site over the next few days, so watch for new stuff!  Sorry about the lack of quality updates.

ABOUT THE ZINE

I started this online version of my zine about the same time I started the print  version.  It was meant to be a companion, but over the last year I've been thinking adding a lot more of the actual zine up here.  I have no intention of going strictly high tech, I think that actual zines have a very important place in the underground society.  But I am going to try to keep this more updated.

For those of you who have never seen my zine, it was originally just my thing, but then I got married, and now both me and my husband Rich work on it, though I do more than he does regardless of what he may say. Dilapidated zine is pretty average, full of reviews, articles about whatever I care to write that month, the occasional contribution from other writers, and the obligatory rants.  It's not the best zine out there, it's not the worse.  It's just something I do because I like to write but am too afraid of rejection notices to submit my stuff to a paying market.  I am currently trying to become inspired to write an actual novel worthy of publication.

You can get the print version of this zine by sending a buck, your zine, or something interesting to:

Rich and Nicole Etolen, 160 Lake Valhalla, E. Stroudsburg PA. 18301

You can also send review material to that address.  We'll review anything, CD's, records, CD-ROMS, zines, books, videos, websites, and anything else you want to send.

Below is a banner for my mom's site.  She makes handmade lotions, soaps, lip balms, and bath stuff.  It's all made from high quality natural ingredients, non animal tested and no lard or anything else that would kill an animal. If you generally buy these items, please consider supporting someone who truly deserves it and who actually cares about her products.

All articles on this site are owned by the writers, and they retain all rights to their work.  Unless it states otherwise, it was written by me.  If it was written by me, feel free to steal it to use in your zine or on your page as long as you do not make money off it, unless of course you are compiling some sort of CD with web pages on it and for some reason deem me worthy to be included. If you are doing this to save others the time, and therefore are not selling my stuff but your time, then feel free to go right ahead.  But it would be really nice if you could tell me that you are doing so.  In fact, if you steal anything here for any reason, I'd like to know about it.  Of course I can't enforce that, but it would just be polite.  The only thing that I demand is that you let people know who the work belongs to.  If you steal it and claim it as your own (why on earth you would want to do that is beyond me, believe me I do not have any delusions of grandeur), I will come after you.  I think that about covers the copyright issue.  Thanks for reading.
