Chapter 1

"I knew we shouldn't have stopped to buy gum!" exclaimed Bailey, as the four sat in her convertible car, waiting at a red light. "Hey!" replied Gray, glaring at her from the back seat, "we're gonna be out at sea for like 2 weeks! You can't honestly believe that I'm gonna go 2 whole weeks without gum, do you?!"

Lauren shook her head, and turned around to face both Gray and Faren, who were sitting in the back seat and said, "Gray, they'll probably have gum there! And now, because we stopped at the 7-11, we may miss the departure of the boat!" Gray just slumped back in his seat and crossed his arms over his chest.

Lauren and her three friends, Faren, Bailey and Gray, were all on their way to the harbor to board the renowned Disney Cruise. Lauren had received it as a present from her parents upon graduating high school, and was allowed to bring 3 friends. However, Gray had made them all stop for gum on the way there and they were all worried that he was going to make them late. "Don't worry guys," reassured Faren, "they never leave on time anyway...besides, we've still got like 10 minutes!"

Bailey, who was driving, just mumbled, "It'll be a miracle if I get us there without getting in an accident! I'm driving way too fast!" Lauren just readjusted her sunglasses and put her head back on the headrest. She felt the warm sun on her face and the wind in her hair, as she could smell the ocean. She knew that they were almost there. Bailey pulled the car into the underground parking lot where it would stay until they returned from their cruise. "C'mon guys!" Bailey yelled, as they all struggled to get the many bags out of the trunk and the back seat. "I should have known better than to go on a 2 week trip with 3 girls," muttered Gray, "they pack so goddamn much!"

"Less talk, more walk!" exclaimed Lauren, trying to get out the 4 tickets while juggling her bags. Finally, the group made it to the dock, where what seemed like thousands upon thousands of people trying to get on the huge ship and say goodbye to their family were gathered. "Holy shit!" said Faren, as her eyes gazed at the humongous boat that was in front of them, "This thing is huge!"

"Let's board," suggested Bailey, as they all walked up the plank with their bags. Lauren handed the four tickets to the porter, and he led them right into the boat, through a long hallway. Then, they reached an elevator, which had about 5 people already in it, and went up two floors. The porter then led them down THAT hallway, until they reached rooms 219 and 221, which were right beside each other. The plan was that Lauren and Gray were going to share a room, (despite the sex difference) and Faren and Bailey were going to share another one. The fact was, the rooms were just too small to have three girls in one room!

Lauren and Gray took room 219, and the other two took 221. Lauren opened the door and revealed a tiny room, with two single beds, some cabinets and drawers, and another door that led to a tiny bathroom. "I think this may just be the smallest room I've ever been in!" exclaimed Gray, peeking into the bathroom, which consisted of a toilet, shower, sink and mirror, "how are we ever gonna fit both of us in here?"

"Don't worry," said Lauren, "the idea is that we are gonna be out of our room most of the time...ya know, when we dock in the islands and stuff...I've heard there's tons to do on this ship!" Gray retreated from the bathroom and his eyes widened in horror! "Laur! There's no TV! No TV at all! How am I gonna survive?!" Lauren just shook her head, and put her bags down on her bed. All of a sudden, there was an announcement made over the loud speaker, "Attention passengers....the ship will be departing shortly, so please make sure all parties have boarded. Thank you."

"Gray, you wanna go outside onto the deck and wave goodbye to the people on the dock?" asked Lauren. "Yeah sure. I've seen them do that in movies and stuff!" he replied, as they exited the room. They met up with Bailey and Faren outside the room and made their way back up to the deck. They pushed their way through the mob of people, and finally found a space along the rail.

"Goodbye!!" called Gray, waving to no one in particular, as they all waved to the mob standing below. "This is so much fun!" Lauren exclaimed to Faren, as the boat slowly retreated from the dock, "I can't believe that we are actually going to be here for 2 weeks!"

"Yeah, agreed Faren, "this is going to be an awesome trip!" Lauren glanced out onto the clear blue surface of the ocean, the bright sun dancing off the sides of the ship, and the people down below and said, "Yeah, it's gonna be amazing."

Chapter 2

"Can we come in?" Bailey called, as she knocked from outside Lauren and Gray's room. She was with Faren and had just finished unpacking. "Sure!" Lauren answered back, as the door opened. Lauren and Gray had also finished, and were just putting the suitcases under the bed. "So, you wanna go explore?" asked Faren. "Yeah," answered Gray, picking up one of the ship's brochures from the dresser, "it says that this place has casinos, bars, clubs, arcades...look! There are two pools! Oh, and there's even a little shopping area for you girls!"

Faren gave him a look, as they all headed out. It was only 10 in the morning, but already the warm Florida sun had kicked in. They started on the bottom floor, (which they found out was mostly cabins) and worked their way up to the top deck. Lauren pulled her sunglasses down off of her head to cover her eyes. "Wow, it's gorgeous out here! Look at the size of this swimming pool! I can't wait to catch some rays up here!" she exclaimed, looking around at the people milling about. "Well, why wait?!" Bailey replied, "Why not start now?"

They all headed back down to their cabin and changed into their bathing suits (Lauren changed in the bathroom!) and headed back up to the top.

*************************

"Dude, I don't know about this," said AJ warily, as he stepped into his cabin that he was sharing with his friend Howie, "I get very claustrophobic...plus, I sometimes also get seasick!" Howie just looked at him skeptically and said, "AJ, buddy, we NEED this vacation! All of us have been so busy...this time off is definitely well deserved, don't you think? Besides, you'll be fine! We've got Gravol just in case, and most of the time we won't be in this room!"

AJ shrugged, as he finished unpacking. "Yo! You guys done yet, or what?" called Nick from outside the room, who was standing with Brian (also his roommate) and Kevin (who got his own room). AJ and Howie appeared at the door, ready to go with the three guys to check out the ship. "Dude, you don't look so good!" commented Brian, looking at AJ's face. "I'm fine, I'm fine....I guess I'm just a little nervous about this whole boat thing.....I think I need some fresh air," he answered.

"Good idea!" said Nick excitedly, leading them all to the elevator, on their way up to the top deck, "I am SO excited for this, guys! I have been waiting 3 months for this!" Kevin nodded and said, "Yeah...the past 3 months have been hard work....but it's all worth it now!"

The five guys finally made it up to the deck, and walked over to the pool. "You okay?" asked Brian, glancing over at AJ. AJ nodded and smiled, "Yeah....thanks dude...I think I was just a little unsure, but now I'm fine." Brian smiled, as he leaned his head back and faced the beautiful Orlando rays. Nick continued to walk around with Kevin and Howie, AJ stayed at the railing, and Brian stood beside him, taking a good look at the pool area.

****************************

Lauren lay on one of the many deck chairs, soaking up the sun. "Hey Lauren, can you pass some sun screen over this way?" asked Gray, who was two chairs down. Lauren sat up and grabbed it from the end of her chair and threw it toward him. Just as she did so, her eyes involuntarily scanned the deck, and stopped right beside the towel stand. "Faren!" hissed Lauren, reaching over and tapping her on the shoulder. "What?!" she hissed back, squinting her way.

"Far, that guy over there.....does he look familiar to you?" Lauren asked, being careful not to point. Faren squinted toward the guy, then shook her head. "Nope," she said, lying back down, "I think you're seeing things!" Lauren just continued to stare at the guy. Where have I seen that guy before?!' she thought to herself, still staring. Suddenly, the guy caught her eye and caught Lauren off guard! She just smiled as he smiled back, and she looked down. "Shit, that was kinda embarrassing!" Lauren mumbled to herself.

"What's that?" asked Faren, not looking up from her tanning position. "Nothing," she replied, scared to look up at him again.

**************************

"Yo, AJ, you want a drink or anything?" Brian asked AJ, who was still looking out at the water. "Naw, I'm fine thanks," replied AJ, "who are you looking at?"

"Oh, no one!" answered Brian quickly, his head turning quickly in the other direction. "Come on B-rok, you can tell me....this boat has got to have some mighty fine women on it!" AJ said coaxingly. "Well, I wasn't really looking at her, but when I caught her eye, she was looking at me...that girl over there, tanning....do you see?" Brian asked.

"Yeah, I see," AJ said, "She probably recognizes you or something." Brian shook his head, and turned to face him, "For some reason, I don't think she does! Not everyone on this cruise knows who the Backstreet Boys are, or else we'd be in big trouble!" he replied. AJ shrugged and said, "Yeah, I guess you're right.....oh well, I guess you'll never know!"

Brian, however, had tuned AJ out and had gone back to looking at her out of the corner of his eye. It's kinda hard to see her from here,' he thought to himself, maybe I should go over and introduce myself.' He quickly rejected the idea, though, as he thought, Naw, I'm too shy....AJ never has trouble meeting women, but it may be awkward......I'll just forget about it.'

Brian's thoughts were interrupted by Nick, who had somehow made it back up to the deck. "Yo, B-rok!" he called, walking quickly toward him. "What up, Nicky?" he called back. Nick bounded over to where both Brian and AJ were standing and said, "Dude, there's a basketball court on the first level! Can you believe it?! Wanna go play? I think there's a game going on right now!"

"Sure!" answered Brian, "AJ, you wanna come?" AJ shook his head and said, "No, it's fine...you two go ahead, I think I'm gonna go explore more of the ship....I'll meet up with you later?"

The two boys nodded, as they made their way down one level. Brian soon forgot about the mystery girl, as he became involved in a competitive game of 5-on-5. Who knows?' he thought, right before the game started, maybe I'll see her around somewhere.'

Chapter 3

Dude, I'm exhausted!" Nick exclaimed, flopping down on his bed, "that game was intense! These guys sure know how to play!" Brian nodded and said, "Yeah, but you can't be tired already! We've still got like a whole day ahead of us!"

Nick looked at his watch and said, "It's only 3:30?! It seems like we've been on the boat for at least a day! Hey, you wanna go swimming?"

"Sure, good idea!" Brian exclaimed, and 5 minutes later, the two guys were up on the deck, wearing their swimsuits and t-shirts. "Do you have any idea where the others are?" asked Brian, pulling off his shirt. Nick shook his head, as he also pulled off his shirt, "Oh well, who cares?! We'll find them soon!" he exclaimed, as he dove right into the pool.

Brian laughed, as some people around him glanced furtively at Nick underwater....he was always the one to put on a show! "That guy is so cute!" Brian heard one girl whisper, as she giggled with her friends. He tossed his t-shirt on a nearby chair, and then remembered earlier that day; the girl who was looking at him confusedly. He shrugged it off, as he jumped into the pool.

*****************************

"I just can't believe this thing!" exclaimed Bailey, her eyes wide in awe, "this boat has EVERYTHING! It even has a mall!" Gray just burst out laughing, as the group ventured into the mini-mall. "Oh, and what's so funny?!" asked Faren, giving Gray a nasty look. Gray just shook his head, laughing to hard to answer. "I think I may have to kill him before these two weeks are over!" Faren said, exasperated. Lauren giggled, along with Bailey, who was semi-distracted by the little shops. "Hey look!" said Bailey, all of a sudden, "this store sells gum! What do you know, Gray?!"

Gray, who had stopped laughing just said, "Oh, it doesn't really matter NOW, does it? I mean, we made it, and now we're on the cruise, so you all just stop complaining!" The four just continued to walk, when they came across a lounge. Lauren peeked in the dark window (it was closed) and saw a stage, seating area, and a bar. She stepped back, and saw a sign on the window that said, in big letters, "TONIGHT ONLY, KARAOKE! 8PM"

"Guys, look!" she said, pointing to the sign, "karaoke! Wanna do that tonight?!" Gray made a face and said, "Karaoke? That's kinda lame, dontcha think?!"

"No, it'll be fun!" exclaimed Faren, "Seeing all those people up there singing....it's so funny!" Gray looked a little unsure, but Bailey said, "C'mon Gray....be a sport! It's gonna be fun!" Gray shrugged and said, "Oh, ok....I guess...but I'm not singing!"

"You don't have to," Lauren responded, but then, her ears diverted to the conversation of two girls who were walking past them. "Yeah, I can't believe it," said one girl, "I heard that they are on the ship....but I haven't seen them, so I don't know if it's true!" The other girl nodded, and said something, but by that time they had already walked by and were out of hearing distance.

"Are you listening to other people's conversations again?!" joked Faren. "No, wait, did you hear what she was saying?!" asked Lauren. The three shook their heads, and Lauren continued, "That one girl was saying something about some people being on the cruise! I think it's someone famous!"

"What makes you think that?" asked Bailey, looking a little more interested than she was before. "Well, I don't know, but it just seemed like it," Lauren said. Bailey and Faren shrugged and glanced over at Gray. Except Gray was no longer with them. "Where'd Gray go?" asked Lauren, as they all spun around. They saw him standing by a table at the ice cream parlor next door, talking to three girls sitting there. "Whassup ladies?" they heard him say.

Lauren, Faren and Bailey all burst out laughing, and continued to walk, leaving Gray alone to charm the girls.

*************************

"Oh, hey B-rok!" called Howie, walking towards Brian and Nick, who were lying on the deck chairs. "Hey!" he answered back, sitting up, seeing that AJ and Kevin were with him. "Guess what we found out?" Howie said. "Ummmm.......that AJ really is a woman?" Nick said, giggling.

"Dude, you better watch it; I'll kick your ass!" AJ exclaimed, punching him in the shoulder. "What did you really find out?" asked Brian, holding back a laugh. "Well," said Howie, "in one of the lounges there's gonna be karaoke tonight!"

Brian and Nick looked at each other with blank looks on their faces. "Karaoke?" said Nick, "So? What's so great about that?" Howie looked at him with an exasperated look, then replied, "What's good about it is it's fun!"

"Dude, the reason we went on this cruise was to get away from singing! Why would we go do it for fun?!" Nick exclaimed. Kevin shook his head and said, "Nicky, we don't actually have to sing...other people will be singing and it's fun to watch them!" Nick shrugged and said, "I guess....what about you, Bri? What do you think?"

"I think that it could be fun," answered Brian, "plus, all the good night stuff doesn't start until tomorrow night!" Nick shrugged again and nodded, and Howie said, "Ok then....it's settled. We'll go tonight, and if it's REALLY lame, we'll leave! It's no big deal."

Brian lay back down, soaking up the last of the day's sun. It was already almost 5 pm, and the sun was slowly setting along the western horizon. "Now, that's what I call a beautiful picture," AJ commented, looking at the sunset. The four nodded in agreement.

***************************

"What time does this start again?" asked Lauren, from the bathroom. She was brushing her hair, while Gray was sitting on his bed. They had just gotten back from dinner, which was more extravagant than anything Lauren had ever been to! It was like one big party! "It starts at 8," answered Gray. Lauren emerged from the bathroom looking at her watch. "You wanna go now?" she asked, "it's already 5 to 8 anyway." Gray nodded as they left the room, picked up Bailey and Faren, and headed to the lounge.

Chapter 4

"I never thought there'd be so many people who wanna do karaoke!" exclaimed Gray, as the four walked into the lounge, which was already full of people. They grabbed a small table closer to the front, and sat down. Waiters and waitresses were milling about, ordering drinks before the singing started. About 15 minutes after 8, a man came out on the stage and introduced himself as one of the activity directors on the ship. He talked for a minute or two, then asked if there were any volunteers to do karaoke.

To Gray's surprise (and frankly, to Lauren's surprise as well!) A bunch of hands shot up in the air. "Are all these people really gonna sing?" asked Bailey, looking amazed. Lauren shrugged, as the first person, a middle-aged man, stepped up on stage and took the microphone. He wasn't able to choose his own song, but soon the words came up on a screen in front of him. He belted out the beginning to, "Born to Be Wild."

Everyone in the audience cheered him on, and Lauren found herself laughing along with everyone else! Even Gray was having a good time! "Gray, how bout we get you up there next?!" said Faren, jokingly. Gray shook his head and made the thumbs down sign, "No way in hell!"

Lauren shrugged, and said, "I don't know....it kinda seems like it would be fun to be up there singing in front of everyone!" Gray answered, "Well, what are you waiting for?! Get up there!" Lauren considered it for a minute, then said, "Yeah! I'm gonna do it!"

So as soon as the second person was done, Lauren raised her hand, and to her surprise, the man pointed to her! She stood up, as Bailey, Faren and Gray cheered her on! She made her way to the stage, was handed the microphone, and saw the words come up on stage. It wasn't a fast song, but rather a slow one that coincidentally was one of her all time favorites, "Didn't We Almost Have It All," by Whitney Houston.

***********************************

Brian, Howie, Nick, Kevin and AJ were all seated at a table in the karaoke lounge, watching the people go up and sing. After two people went up, the third person went. A girl stepped up on stage, and Brian almost gasped out loud. "AJ!" hissed Brian to AJ sitting next to him, "that's the girl!"

"What girl?" asked AJ, confused and only paying half attention. "The girl I was talking about earlier!" he answered, "the one who I caught looking at me!" AJ lowered his sunglasses to get a better look, and shrugged. "Not bad, B-rok, not bad!" he responded, patting him on the shoulder. But Brian had stopped listening to AJ....he listened to her begin to sing; "Remember when we held on the rain, the nights we almost lost it, once again, we can take the night into tomorrow, living on feelings, touching you I feel it all again...."

"Dude, she's pretty good!" exclaimed Nick, raising both his eyebrows. Brian nodded, still staring at her sing. AJ laughed inwardly, watching Brian stare at her up on stage....he was the only one who could read the look on his face; the other guys didn't know what was going on, but AJ knew.

*************************

"The way you used to touch me felt so fine, kept our hearts together down the line, a moment in the soul can last forever, comfort and keep us, help me bring the feeling back again..." Lauren belted out the words to the song she knew so well from her childhood. She could feel all eyes on her, but she wasn't the least bit nervous! She could also hear Faren, Gray and Bailey cheering like mad!

She glanced out into the audience as she continued to sing, and scanned the people who were there. All of a sudden, her eyes fell upon a strikingly familiar face. It was the guy she was looking at earlier that day! She still couldn't figure out why he looked so familiar, but for some reason she couldn't stop looking at him. The guys around him also looked familiar, but still she drew a blank. Once again, they caught each other's eye, but Lauren quickly looked away as not to embarrass herself again!

"...Didn't we almost have it all?" she ended the song, and was bombarded by deafening applause! She bowed quickly, and walked off the stage. She was met by Gray, Bailey and Faren at her table, with hugs and high fives. "You were awesome!" exclaimed Gray, eyes wide in amazement, "I didn't know you could sing so well!"

Lauren couldn't stop smiling! She shrugged, as people around her kept complimenting her on her performance. Soon, the commotion died down and more and more people went up and did their thing. The night went on, and soon, karaoke ended. The man thanked them all for coming, and hoped they'd all attend further activities. People then began to leave, which included the four. "Wow, that was a lot better than I thought it'd be!" commented Gray, stepping out into the fresh air. They all nodded in agreement, and Lauren looked at her watch and said, "It's 11...do you guys wanna hang out here for a bit, or go back to our rooms?"

The consensus was that they would stay outside on the deck for a while. As soon as they reached it, they began to socialize with some of the people on the cruise. Lauren was talking with this girl who seemed to be about 20, when all of a sudden she felt as though someone was watching her from behind. She spun around and came face to face with that astonishingly familiar face.

Chapter 5

Lauren didn't know what to say...here she was standing right in front of the guy who had been confusing her all day! She just stood there with a goofy look on her face until he said, "You were really good up there...in the karaoke lounge that is."

Lauren smiled, looked down shyly and said, "Thanks!" She knew he knew that she was staring at him. "I believe we've seen each other earlier in the day....?" he said, smiling a bit. Lauren giggled nervously and said, "Yeah, at the pool this morning. Sorry about that, it was just that it seemed as though I'd seen you before somewhere, I just wasn't sure where!"

"Well, my name's Brian," Brian exclaimed, extending his hand forward. "Hi, I'm Lauren," Lauren answered, shaking his hand, still drawing a blank, "you know, this is gonna bother me forever.....did you have any idea how I know you?"

"I may have an idea," said Brian, smiling mysteriously as he took her by the hand. This surprised Lauren, but he continued, "I want you to meet my friends." He led her about 5 yards until they came to a group of four guys. "Guys," he said, "I want you to meet Lauren, Lauren this is Nick, Kevin, AJ and Howie."

Lauren's mouth almost dropped open as she then realized who Brian was. It hit her like lightning. "Oh my God...you guys are..you guys are the Backstreet Boys!" she exclaimed, stepping back a step, being careful not to say it too loudly. The five guys nodded, smiling brightly. "Wow!" she exclaimed again, "I can't believe it.......what are you guys doing on this cruise?"

"Well," answered Kevin, "We have a month off, so we decided to take a vacation....and we finally decided on this!" Lauren nodded, not feeling as though she was actually talking to THE Backstreet Boys! "So, are you all having a good time?" she asked.

They all nodded, and Nick said, "Yeah...you were really good tonight at singing! Are you a singer?" Lauren shook her head and said, "No way! I've never actually sung before...I mean, besides in the shower and stuff, but this was my first time in front of a lot of people."

"You should maybe think about pursuing it," advised AJ, "I thought you were pretty damn good up there!" Lauren laughed and said, "Well thanks guys, but I doubt it....I don't even come close to you! I really like your songs."

The group talked for a while longer, and Lauren found herself really connecting with them. They were fun to talk to, and she couldn't believe that Brian had personally come up to her and complimented her! "Laur, are you gonna introduce us to your friends?" asked Faren, who had suddenly shown up at the scene with Bailey and Gray. "Oh, yeah! Guys, these are my friends Faren, Gray and Bailey....this is Nick, Brian, Howie, Kevin and AJ," Lauren said, pointing to each of them as she said their names. Gray looked puzzled for a second, then said, "Wait, aren't you guys the......"

"Backstreet Boys?" finished Nick, "Yeah, we are!" Gray's mouth dropped open, and Bailey and Faren stood speechless. The expected questions were asked, and soon they all got to know each other. "Hey, do you all like basketball?" asked Nick, who had been chatting with Gray while the group had been talking collectively. "Yeah, I do," said Faren, as Lauren and Bailey nodded along with her. "Yeah, me too," Gray added. "Well, do you wanna have a game tomorrow? A little 4-on-5 maybe?" Nick asked.

"Sure!" exclaimed Lauren, "I noticed there was a court on the first level, what time do you wanna meet there?" Kevin answered, "Well, how about at 11:00 tomorrow morning?"

"We'll be there!" announced Faren, as they all said goodnight and the group broke up, and headed back to their cabins. Just before Lauren had the chance to walk away, Brian leaned over and whispered to her, "It was nice meeting you, Lauren." Lauren smiled, looked into his blue eyes and whispered back, "Yeah, you too!"

By that time it was already a little past midnight, so Lauren and crew headed back to their rooms. Lauren and Gray got changed and while Lauren was in the bathroom brushing her teeth, Gray called to her from the room, "So, Laur, you seemed to hit it off with Brian there, didn't you?!"

She spit out her toothpaste and said, "Huh? What are you talking about?!" Gray came in the bathroom and grabbed his toothbrush and replied, "Oh, you know what I'm talking about! There's something between you and Brian, isn't there?!"

"Gray, you are seriously confused!" she exclaimed, "me and Brian just met like an hour ago! How could there possibly be something between us'?!" Gray just shrugged and gave a teasing smile. Lauren just threw a towel at him before she could have the chance to say something that would embarrass herself! They finished getting ready for bed, and soon the lights were out and Gray was sleeping. Lauren silently laughed to herself at how he could have ever thought that her and Brian had something going on when they had just met!

Lauren drifted off to sleep thinking about the day's events: about boarding the ship, exploring, singing in the karaoke session, and finally meeting Brian and the Backstreet Boys. It was hard to imagine that so much had happened in just one day.

Chapter 6

"So you guys showed up? I thought you'd be too scared to play us!" exclaimed AJ to Lauren, Faren, Bailey and Gray who had just arrived at the basketball court. "Yeah, sure!" Lauren responded laughing, as she greeting them all. "Hey, whassup?" said Nick, giving Gray a high five. Lauren then realized that Nick was about a year younger than she and her friends were.....he was only 17, but for some reason it just seemed weird. "Hey Lauren," Brian said, smiling, "how are ya?" Lauren answered, "Pretty good, thanks!"

"Ok, so what are the teams?" asked Faren, grabbing the ball from AJ's hands. After a couple minutes of deciding, it was concluded that the teams would be Lauren, Nick, AJ, Faren, versus Brian, Kevin, Howie, Bailey and Gray. "So, you ready to play?" asked Nick, bending down and tying his shoe on their side of the court. "Yup! I'm ready...always ready to play some basketball!" she answered. She almost laughed at what she was wearing...normally she wasn't the sporty type, but she had chosen to wear her basketball shorts (rolled up at the waist to a desired length!) And UCLA t-shirt. Already the sun was shining bright and she could tell it was gonna be a scorcher that day!

The game began, as Nick checked the ball to Brian. Nick began to dribble the ball, shouting things and making motions with his hands. Lauren only half-understood what he was saying and doing, so she just played along. He passed to Faren, who then began to dribble. Howie blocked her, so she passed to Lauren, who passed to AJ who did a perfect lay up. The game continued and Lauren was glad to find out that they weren't so competitive, and it was more of a laid-back sort of game. This went on for about 5 minutes or so, until Lauren saw Brian whispering something to Howie in between plays. For some reason, whatever Brian said to Howie made him burst out in laughter, as he nodded his head.

Lauren just shook it off as Nick took the ball again and began dodging all the others on the other team. "Nick, pass to me! I'm open!" Lauren called, as she waved her arms in the air. Nick looked in her direction, and was just about to pass her the ball, when all of a sudden, Lauren could feel herself being lifted off the ground by a pair of strong hands. "AHHH!" she cried, as a voice behind her said in a laughing tone, "Oh no you don't!" She craned her neck the other way and saw Brian was the one who had grabbed her by the waist.

"Foul!!" Lauren screamed, unable to get herself out of the hold because she was weak with laughter, "Foul!" This whole shebang had caught her whole team off guard, and Howie had intercepted the ball and gone to sink the basket. Brian finally put her down, and realized they were all laughing at her! This included Brian.

"Hey!" exclaimed Nick, through his giggles, "that's not fair! You can't do that!" Brian shrugged and said through a smile, "Oh well!"

The game continued, and they played until about 12:30. By that time they were all sweating, as the hot sun beat down on them. "Anyone up for a swim?" asked Brian, after they had all caught their breath sprawled out on the court. They all agreed, and soon met up once again on the pool deck with their bathing suits on under their clothes.

"That was a fun game!" exclaimed Nick, wiping a bit of sweat off his brow. "Yeah," agreed Gray, "But if there were a rink on this boat, I'd challenge you to MY game......hockey!" Nick looked at him skeptically, then said, "Yeah? Well how about when we get off this ship.......we'll play? Deal?"

"Deal," Gray said, as they shook on it. It seems like Gray and Nick are becoming pretty good friends!' Lauren thought to herself, but then she said out loud, "Well, I thought it was a pretty fun game....despite the unsportsmanlike conduct coming from Brian over here!!"

Brian burst out laughing, and said, "Oh that's it...you're going in the pool!" And before Lauren could even react, he picked her up right off the chair, and held her over the water, clothes and all! "Brian, PUT ME DOWN!!" she screamed, clinging onto him for dear life, "I am NOT going in! If I'm going in, you're coming in with me!!"

"That's what you think!" he exclaimed, as he dropped her right into the pool. The whole group laughed, as Lauren surfaced, weighed down by her clothing. She swam to the side, and hopped out, shaking out her hair. "Littrell," she said, with an evil grin on her face, "you are DEAD!" She ran over to him, and gave him a big hug before he could get away, rubbing her wet clothes all over his. "Okay, okay...I deserved that!" he said, hugging her back despite the fact that she was soaking wet.

"Yup!" she said, as she stepped back, admiring the huge wet mark she had made on his shirt, "anyone else?" The group nodded their heads, as Nick said, trying to hold back a laugh, "You should see yourself Lauren! You look so funny!" Lauren peeled off her t-shirt and shorts, and threw them onto one of the chairs. "Ha ha ha," she said sarcastically, "anyone else coming in?"

With that invitation, the rest of the group all stripped down to their bathing suits, and hopped in. They swam for a bit, then all got out and dried off and had some pool-side lunch. "So tell me," said Lauren, who was sitting with them all at a table beside the café, "why did you guys choose this cruise? I mean, of all places to go in the world, why the Disney Cruise?"

"Well," Brian answered, "we could have gone anywhere, but we really wanted to stay relatively close to home, plus none of us had ever been on a cruise before." Lauren looked at the group of boys suspiciously, and said with a smile, "That's it?"

Nick burst out laughing, as AJ said, "Well, that, and the fact that we got a little bit of a discount!" Lauren nodded, laughing, as Bailey said, "Well that makes sense! Does anyone know when we dock?"

"I think we dock tomorrow around 5 o clock or so in one of those Bahamas Islands...I'm not sure which one though," answered Kevin, munching on one of his french fries. "I can't wait!" exclaimed Gray, "I can't wait to see those beautiful Bahamian women!"

"That is the only thing that this boy thinks of!" exclaimed Faren, as Nick laughed along with Gray, "Gray, you really need something to do!" Gray shrugged, as everyone laughed. It was hard to believe that they had all just met the day before.
