About Orienteering

Orienteering is the sport for the thinking runner, for those wanting a change from road or track running, or those who simply want to escape into the countryside. It consists of navigating your way around a course of 'control' points, choosing the route which should get you round in the fastest possible time. It's a race against the clock, so it helps to have stamina and good navigational skills. However, these are by no means compulsory, and any Nottingham student is welcome to join our club and try orienteering.

About Our Club

We travel to orienteering events most weekends during term time, and members may go to as many or as few as they like. We cater for all levels of physical and technical ability, from absolute beginners to international orienteers. The main event we attend is the British Universities Sports Association (BUSA) championships. We also compete in other major 'national' events, and in University League events, against other universities from the Midlands region. We also hold socials (typically involving much drinking, clubbing and Laserquesting), so club members can get to know each other.
