Hillsboro Historical Society

Main Street in historic downtown Hillsboro The Hillsboro Historical Society was founded in 2000 and, as such, is a relatively young organization. This being the case, there is an ever-present need for more individuals willing to join us in pursuit of the Society's goals. This organization's mission consists of two general objectives and, due to their wide scope, there is no shortage of projects to be undertaken. The first objective is to preserve and protect the historic buildings, structures and sites located in and around the city of Hillsboro. The second objective is to raise citizens' awareness and interest in local history by encouraging and engaging the public in the discovery and educational process. So, whether you are interested in Society membership or simply want to help as a volunteer, many opportunities for involvement are waiting for you!
	Become a Member
	Any individual, corporation or other organization that supports the goals of the Hillsboro Historical Society may become a member. Benefits of membership include the Society's occasional newsletter, admission to Special Meetings, voting rights and eligibility to serve on the Board of Directors and committees. Annual dues are $20 (all positions within the organization are filled on an unpaid volunteer basis so 100% of collected dues go directly toward Society projects). 	Volunteer
	We encourage everyone to join us in membership. However, the Hillsboro Historical Society also welcomes those who do not wish to become a member but want to help as a volunteer. If you would like to help with an ongoing Historical Society project or participate as a volunteer in an upcoming event or activity, please contact us.
