The first Portland Fire Bombero Program was April 30--May 6, 2001. Ten firefighters from our sister city of Guadalajara came to Portland for a week of intensive training in the latest firefighting and lifesaving techniques. The bomberos (firefighters) also took part in the local "Cinco de Mayo Parade and festivities.
