Congratulations to the Junior Varsity Lady Dragons for winning the VHSL Black Diamond District Championship by defeating Haysi 41 - 30 Friday, November 12, 1999. They finished the season with a 19 - 2 record.



Congratulations to Jessica Hinkle, Julie Shelton, and Brandi Davis who made the VSHL's All-Black Diamond District Girls Basketball team.



Accolades to Jessica Hinkle for also making VHSL's Region-D Girls Basketball team.


Congratulations to the Garden Dragons' Football team for winning 1st runner-up in the VHSL's Region D Finals, Saturday, Nov. 20, 1999.

By order of the Buchanan County Public School, bicycles, skateboards, and roller blades are NOT allowed on the GHS track. If you wish to use the GHS tennis courts, you must deposit your litter in the provided garbage cans.

Applications for the 2000 Tech Prep Summer Technology Camp (July 10 - 14th 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. daily) at SVCC for rising 9th graders with middle-to-upper-level grades are in the guidance office. Expenses will be paid for the participants.

Congratulations to the Lady Dragons' track team for winning the 11th annual Dogwood Track Meet, April 29, 2000. Brandi Davis set a new school record in the Discus Throw with a throw of 98'11". Valerie Rowe won the Girls High Jump at 4'10". Shannon Brown won the 800-meter and 1600-meter runs. Team members: Jessica Hinkle, Shannon Brown, Valerie Rowe and Julie Shelton, won the 4x100 Relay.
