DEFINITION OF NEPHROTIC SYNDROME

DEFINITION:
It is a condition that is caused by many kidney diseases, which is leads to damage of the filtering units of the kidney. It is actually a set of  symptoms, and not a disease in itself.

TYPES OF NEPHROTIC SYNDROME:
1- Idiopathic nephrotic syndrome:
It is most common in children. Idiopathic means that the cause of the disease is unknown. The minimal-change nephrotic syndrome ( MCNS )is the most common type of it. Idiopathic nephrotic syndrome is found in boys more than girls.
2- Congenital nephrotic syndrome: 
It is one of the rare forms of nephrotic syndrome that is found in new born babies. It is an inherited disorder. The babies who have this syndrome have lower weight than the normal.
