Genealogy Research

The following research has been the result of many hours of work, far too numerous to count, and provides a reference for many family and friends.

Most of my research originates in the North East of England, mainly in Northumberland and Durham, but as I traced back, I finally realised what a task I had taken on, especially when I started finding ancestors as far a field as Buckingham, Midlands, Scotland, Australia, etc!

If I’d thought logically about it before I started, I would have done my usual analytical calculations, and appreciated that, by the time I found back to my Great-great-great-grandparents, I could possibly  have found 32,768 Direct ascendants. [2x4x8x16x32] and that is not allowing for complications … of which there have been a few!  Thankfully ... my work is incomplete ... and likely to remain so!! :oÞ

Some of the work is being undertaken for a friend, re:  The "NELSON" surname, of which there is quite a lot of historical information available, but I have that missing time-period of approximately 100 years to fill in.
