Shuo Chen's Reviews

These are all hardware, software, and games I have used or played with sometime or another. So I want to tell you how I feel about them through experience. These are all my opinion, actual use may vary. Please research the products elsewhere and test the products yourself if you intend to use it. I use a PC Clone loaded with Windows 95, authentic AMD at 200 MHz with 32 MB RAM. My swapfile size is set to 80 MB and I have a Davicom V1433QH-U 33.6 Kbps WebModem. (Recently I reset the swapfile to 224 MB, defragmented, and moved the swapfile - I've had fewer errors... though system monitor has reported a somewhat defective swapfile...) It isn't the most up-to-date computer, but it's my first real Internet ready computer. It was purchased around 1997-1998 I believe. Oh, by the way, I also have an old XT computer with a P150+, but that's a different story...

Here is an explanation on types of graphics which you may see in video games: You may see dark or gloomy in my review descriptions. Dark isn't the same as gloomy. Gloomy is more a brown blended color. Gloomy is kind of worse. An example of gloomy poor graphics would be Quake II on my system. (I don't have the best system for rendering Quake II graphics, so the game literally gave me vertigo and made me queasy.) Dark means that the game may have less light in certain areas or that it has a more ... uh Batmanish mood.

About the review site... I thought that I would provide my opinions on software and hardware that I had used because it might help someone out one way or another. It might refer someone to a service or product. Maybe someone might even make a purchase or something? I originally conceived the idea one day while sitting in the library one weekend at my campus ... I had looked up some free sites and found a site that offered a cool colored beanie hat in exchange for 25 software or hardware products reviews. Since I used many products heavily this site was for me. Later, after I thought about it, I decided this would be a good thing to add to my website since it would provide useful content and I could provide links. So there it is... By the way, you can get that cool beanie hat at the Benchin Review site. 8-10-00 UPDATE: It seems that they are "hanging up their hat"... no more beanies or reviews :| That is too bad.
