Brian W. Fairbanks-Writer/Feedback (Part III)

PART III

I just read your article about Revenge of the Creature which was filmed in the mid-1950s at Marine Studios (Marineland of Florida) and St. Augustine, Florida. Although I remember the filming at the attraction and the fact that Rico Browning (later of Flipper fame), I was not aware that Clint Eastwood had a part in the film.
Very interesting bit of cinema history.
Thanks.

Dear Brian,
I just read your article on Reagan's movies with considerable interest. I am currently making a film about the Star Wars project and the movie "Murder the the Air" would seem to be extremely relevant. Unfortunately, I have looked everywhere that I can think of and cannot find it on video. Do you have any ideas?!? I would be most grateful if you can help.
Yours sincerely,
Matthew

I read your article with much interest and much enjoyment -- because it confirmed my idea of who "Dino" really was. I just think he was an "awesome" entertainer with "real soul". I believe he lost his grip of /on life when his son was killed in the plane crash. Again the article was wonderful. THANKS -- will probably read it over and over.

I loved Dean Martin. I would like to know if his old TV show is on a cable channel and when and what channel. They should make more shows like that one today.

May I use your (James Garner) material in a feature we would like to do in an Oklahoma publication, and can you give me links to his "official" website or to his agent?
Many Thanks.

Hi, I just visited your site and must say that you have done an excellent job on an even more excellent actor. Unfortunately, Richard Widmark's movie are not shown on TV often in Sydney Australia. I am trying to find his videos. However all the good ones like The Long Ships, Hell & High Water, Pick up on South Street, and Tunnel of Love are only on NTSC version instead of PAL and the former can't be played on Australian video recorders. I think Richard is a great actor and shows how well he is at acting by staring in so many different types of movies. I love your site and you do credit to a great actor and certainly a big HUNK in his days of glory. Today's actors have a lot to learn from the likes of Richard and others of his era, especially the so called Super Stars of today.................. Give me the classics anytime!!!! More importantly, give me a Richard Widmark movie. Thanks for sharing your work and site.
Cheers from down under.

I finished reading The Fire Next Time. It seems to me that James Baldwin is an angry writer. He expresses this by saying how black people are treated unfairly. In the book that you read, did he write about how he feels about racism in America? Did he express any other views? Do you know anything about his relationship with his father?
Thanx a bunch!!

Dear Brian,
Tony Perkins married Berry not Barry Berenson, otherwise it would have been most diffilcult to have fathered their two children!
Best,
Ginger, who worked with Tony in Paris in the Sixties.

Wasn't Anthony Perkins wife on the airplane that crashed into the World Trade Center? How ironic that he died on a Sept. 12 & she on the 11th of Sept.

Dear Mr. Fairbanks:
Enjoyed your information on James Garner. Wondering if you could answer a question my family was discussing tonight or turn me to the right direction. Remember hearing Paul Harvey's "The Rest of the Story" several years ago...he spoke of a young boy raised in poverty and I thought there was something about his aunts(?) making him wear dresses(?) and during "the rest of the story" it was James Garner of Rockford Files fame. Have you ever heard such a thing or know where to find out? Greatly appreciate your help and keep up the good work.

Hello, you have no idea as to who I am, not that you'd want to. But I went on your website - which is brilliant, and it featured a hell of a lot of stuff - and read the page on The National Enquirer: Thirty Years of Unforgettable Images, and I think its disgusting that they had pictures of dead celebrities. I saw that picture of River Phoenix not so long ago, and I was compleatly disgusted that it was published. (what did they say about Antony Perkins exactly?) Well anyhow this e-mail was pointless, i just wanted to tell you i agree that The National Enquirer: Thirty Years of Unforgettable Images is crap, as well.
I luv your site, it's brillent. Did you write all of the essays on it yourself? All you need now is a huge page dedicated to River Phoenix, *hint, hint* I luv Psycho. Norman Bates is one of the best played characters ever. (Only Anthony Perkins could play him, the dude in the remake is so not as cool)
Well sorry for making you waste your time reading a pointless email. Reply if you like.
Yours faithfully
Mina
