THE HANCOCK COUNTY
VETERANS SERVICE COMMISSION
Veterans Service Commissions have been established throughout
the country to provide for the needs of veterans and
their families. Veterans Service officers each represent
one of the five veterans organizations officially chartered
by the U.S. Congress: The American Legion, Amvets, The VFW,
Purple Heart, and the DAV. Commissioners are members of the
organizations they represent and are appointed by judges.
Veterans Service Commission Office
The local office of the Veterans Service Commission is located at 222 Broadway, Suite 1 in Findlay, Ohio just south of the Findlay - Hancock County Public Library. The present Director of Veterans Services is Phil Sweeney. Phil has been in this position for many years and is extremely knowledgable in all areas of veterans affairs.
NOTE: The Veterans Service Commission provides a host of services for veterans including transportation, food stipends, burial assistance, etc. For a complete list of available services, please call the office.
